"The place is in dire need of a makeover. In the bathroom... No exhaust fan... Hinges and towel racks are rusted... Wall paper is peeling off the walls... Tub/shower faucet is connected wrong. Hot is cold and Cold is hot... Door has noticeable cracks. The front half of the room had no lights. Until this place get renovated, I will not stay there again."

"The building and grounds need maintenance. There's rotting window sills and rain damage on the ceiling, spots of bleach on the carpets and the doorknob of a closet came off in my hand. The TV in the room is incredibly small, the size of a computer screen. You don't come to a hotel to watch TV but like showers, you expect a nice experience. The breakfasts were ok, but not great."

"We did not end up staying here. We drove into the parking lot and drove right back out. I wasn't expecting much for the price. However, it looked like a homeless shelter. One of the doors looked like someone had tried to break in, and they just taped it up. It was scary looking. I would rather have slept in my car than stay here for even 1 night."

"While it appears they are in the midst of renovating, ie, painting, new carpets in hallway, the pool was not open. Later read reviews that it hasn't worked the last 3+ years! False advertisement for pool as well as breakfast. Didn't bother w/breakfast as I read another review that it was "grab & go" coffee & a waffle! How does one enjoy a waffle to go? The room "216" itself was OK but the shower curtain was grungy at the bottom, towels mediocre. Ironing board broken & bottom dresser drawers kept opening. Left a maintenance request so hopefully fixed for next person. On the brite side, staff was pleasant."

"We had the pleasure of staying at this amazing property in celebration of our son's graduation this weekend. Every aspect of our stay was top notch from the lovely location amidst the woods of Old Lyme and ecletic mid-century decor, to the extremely well appointed chef's kitchen and amenities throughout. Hats off to our host. Chris was the most gracious, accommodating, and attentive host that we've ever had- and we travel with VRBO quite extensively. We highly recommend staying at this property. You will not be sorry."
