"This is definite faded grandeur. The ground floor looks and feels beautiful but the rest of the hotel is tatty - not helped by a lack of cleaning In some of the common parts. Staff were slightly taciturn, but we went out of season and they might have been busy doing other things. The location though is fantastic and, crucially, there is a good breakfast! This hotel could be so much better with some love. As it is, it is over priced."

"For perspective this was our fourth trip here stretching back 15 years. Our two bed apartment in Apollo Heights was fantastic. Large, spacious with a good balcony and view. "Rude staff, not accommodating. Room service is awful. NOISY hotel. Next to the lift, so can hear it every ten seconds. They had drilling going on till 2am - the mirror in bathroom was shaking with the drilling. The cleaner knocked on the door at 8am when checkout is 12\. Crappy sleep, old dated room. Tv volume goes up and down on its own. Sink right infront on toilet. No space. Waste of a night. They need to upgrade their rooms. Worst hotel experience."
