The Deer’s Head Inn is, as its name implies.. dead. The revitalization of this building needs serious work; the amenities are nonexistent, the air conditioning was completely out in our room during our stay, and the food was misleading. The overall saving grace could have been the food, but if you’re going to make fancy descriptions and great sounding dishes on your menu, then please ensure they do in fact taste just as phenomenal. Do better, chef! The experience as a whole was beyond pitiful, and let’s be honest, the room was stifling and extremely uncomfortable (e.g., the bed was not great, and there was no closet). However, a lover of music will enjoy the record player in the room. The shower pressure was great, but watch out for scalding hot sections to surprise you, and obviously the historical value of visiting such a place for history buffs is appealing. Altogether, not a great experience, and this will, of course, be a one time stay. Sad, just sad. This place is giving Urban Rustic a run for its money!
