Friendly owners and good clean comfortable room. Breakfast was great. Had to drive to main beach. I believe parking in street is normally easy but we arrived during a festival and parking anywhere was almost impossible on the day.

The owner was very attentive to our needs and nice. Breakfast was very good-loved the organic herbs sausages and fresh eggs. Location was convenience for what we needed for. Toiletries provided. The room and the shower/toilet are extremely tiny. My husband who is 6”8 found it difficult to stand upright in the shower. The shower/toilet was not cleaned properly as we found a corn plaster on the floor next to the bin left from previous guest when we checked in and the toilet has yellow stained on it and dirty. The room was dusty and stuffy. We had to leave the windows open at night but there were lots of noises at night - animals, cars and our room was literally next to the breakfast room so we heard all the noises at early morning. We also went round and round a few times looking for public alongside parking before we found a space which wasn’t close to the B&B.

Welcoming place to stay
Owner was very welcoming, friendly, polite, helpful. Room was decorated lovely, but room was a bit small and shower cubicle was small, kept hitting my elbow on either the wall or glass door. Breakfast was amazing, i have never been feed so well. A lovely place to stay, will definitely visit again.

Cherry Tree Guest House
My family I recently stayed at the Cherry Tree Guest House and I can honestly say that Mel and Colin were very hospitable and nothing seemed too much for them. The breakfasts were amazing and the rooms were light and airy and clean. Each room had its own unique style of decor. My only criticism would be that it is not always easy to park outside.

Everything you need in a single room. Would have given 5 stars if there had been blackout curtains (just because I am used to that at home). Parking was a bit tricky on this occasion.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and many choices. Free bottles of water and biscuits in the room and also been offered free bottles of water when we were leaving as the weather is very hot and it’s very thoughtful of the owner. Good location. The wash bassin is too small, water is easily split out.

Nice single room at the top of the house. Very well appointed en suite but the hot water ran out before the bath was half filled. A very windy night which meant the room door rattled as I had the window open to relieve the warmth. Great breakfast

I received a very warm welcome from Colin & Mel, they really made me feel ‘at home’. My bedroom was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfort. There was a very extensive breakfast menu with a separate Specials Board with lots of local and also home-made produce. The guest lounge was a lovely place to sit and chat to other guests. I have already recommended The Cherry Tree to others and I will definitely be back next time I am in Eastbourne.

What a great find. In a quiet location, yet very close to the seafront and within walking distance of the city centre and walks along the cliffs. Mel is very enthusiastic and proud of her guest house and the area in general. She's very positive and happy to give helpful tips without being intrusive. Rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. Nice breakfast room and comfortable guest lounge. Breakfast was delicious and served with a smile. We'd very happily return here on our next trip to Eastbourne.

Great breakfast
It's about 15min walk from the station. The location is about half way between the station and Beachy Head. Owners are very friendly and helpful. It's a cosy, welcoming place. Thick clean carpets give a homey feeling and it's nice to walk about indoors with socks/slippers. The breakfast included was amazing, so many things to choose from both hot and cold. Things that can be improved: stability of WiFi signal, water pressure for shower on the uppermost floor, sound insulation (can hear people walking on the stairs). All in all very good value, and I'll definitely stay here again.

Great Breakfasts !
Good location, warm friendly greeting on arrival and the lady who serves breakfast is lovely, chatty and helpful. Great menu options - had Food Envy when I saw the waffles being brought to another guest ! Although the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were delicious too. Porridge is also available with a variety of interesting toppings, alongside the traditional Full English. The lounge area is large and comfortable with complementary coffee and biscotti. We had a small double room on the third floor, clean but basic. The shower room was ok for an overnight but tight for space, a large person might struggle in the shower. Clean, fresh white linen and towels. The Cherry Tree I think also accommodates dogs so great if you want to take your pet with you.

Friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
A great base for a short break in a quiet street, but 2 minutes from the seafront and 10 minutes walk to the town centre. Excellent choice and quality for breakfast.

Well Looked After
The guest house is immaculate and I was taken good care of from the moment I arrived to leaving the following morning. When I asked on arrival what time breakfast was served, and the owner deduced I was running a marathon the next morning, I was asked what time I would like my breakfast (which was half an hour earlier than the normal serving time began) ~ I was also asked what I would prefer to eat to fit in with my activity. The finishing touches in each room are charming and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely stay here again.

I had an absolutely lovely stay at the Cherry Tree Guest House! The owners are really welcoming and try to make everyone to feel like being at home. Although I had to leave before breakfast time, the owner woke up early to prepare the breakfast. I only wished I would have had more time to enjoy the lovely breakfast.. The guesthouse really pays attention to details and I will definitely return the next time I will be back in Eastbourne!

Despite it being the worst weekend for snow and cold(March 3rd and 4th) and being the only guest that weekend - the welcome was warm, the room was excellent, the breakfast offering was extensive and very tasty.. Thank you Mel. I would recommend The Cherry Tree and it would be my choice if I return to Eastbourne

Quality guesthouse close to beach and theatres
Great guesthouse very close to the seafront and a short walk to the town. Quiet location with a very comfortable lounge. It is ideal for a stroll along the well manacured promonade and longer walks including the south downs with its excellent views. To get you off to the best start the inclusive breakfast offers a good range and is freshly cooked to order - delicious! Your hosts Melanie and Colin are friendly and efficient and go the extra mile to make your stay relaxed and enjoyable.

Nice old fashioned hotel close to the beach
A nice hotel, food excellent, host and hostess lovely. Nice position. We had difficulties parking as it is on street, but that could be seasonal. Our room was not for us, although it was very clean and had everything in it that you would expect. Our problem being in our 60's was that the bed, although very comfortable once you were in it, was up against a wall on one side. The ensuite was so small we had problems and the opening edge of the door barely skimmed the bed. There was no room for bedside cabinets, these had been used instead for the tea and coffee tray on one and the clock/radio/lamp on the other. That made everything very low and I found myself having to kneel to make tea as bending over so low in the morning is painful for me. Again probably an age thing. There was another small table but it was at knee height and could not really be used as a dressing table unless, again I knelt on the floor. There was a nice big hanging cupboard for clothes and I did make use of the ironing board to put my suitcase on. We like to have a cup of tea in bed, but this was not possible in this room for us. One last thing, there being no beside tables, the only way to turn out the light was to get out of bed. The hosts were very nice and the guest lounge and dining room were very well appointed. The breakfasts were excellent. I would assume not all rooms are like this. We dont think this was a Comfort Double room with garden view as we could not see the garden!

A gem of a guesthouse.
Everything about the cherry tree was pleasant and enjoyable. The included breakfast was outstanding and the entire setting of the guest house was superb. I would recommend this facility without Any hesitation. The hosts are thoughtful, kind and very accommodating.

Although I only stayed for 1 night I was made to feel very welcome.The host Mel was very accommodating.Gave me tips on where to visit,eat etc.The hotel was conveniently placed about 5mins or so to the pier.Had a nice homely,comfort feel to the place.Also within walking distance to the town centre. Great value for money.Would definetly stay there again
