Big birthday party
Very large, spacious house and fantastic grounds. Lots of room inside and out for us to spread out. Facilities excellent. We made good use of hot tube, pool and table tennis tables and the young ones enjoyed the kids play area. Easy access to Cotswolds Way path. Although the property is on the edge of Dursley, the grounds are large, giving the impression that you are almost in the countryside.

The most stunning of grand houses in beautifully lanscaped grounds. Hosts Candida and Stephen were nothing short of exceptional in all they did ,both pre and during our stay. The attention to detail throughout the house is extraordinary, Candida we were all blown away by your talent. We had a brilliant few days with our family and their friends ,and got a trip in to Cheltenham races too. I must mention the "old Crown" at Uley - Kate and her team provided us with, in our opinion the best roast we have ever had. Thank you candida and Stephen - much appreciated

Beautiful English Manor
Spectacular English manor house and gardens. Gorgeous interior in all respects, with outstanding pool, hot tub and terrace area, and meticulously kept grounds. Perfectly located on the edge of Dursley, conveniently located for day trips to the south (Bath, Stonehenge, etc.), the many nearby idyllic Cotswold villages, and Stratford-upon-Avon and Hidcote Garden to the north. Pub fare in Dursley and several excellent restaurants within a short drive. The owners were extremely helpful and responsive--Candida was outstanding as we worked through several questions when we were considering a stay there. The perfect place to stay as you experience this beautiful part of the world.

We really enjoyed our stay here. There were a total of 22 of us and the house felt very spacious. Rooms were set up beautifully with towels and robes, which were perfect for using the hot tub, a huge hit with the chilly weather. Despite it being winter the house felt really warm and cosy and the beds were very comfortable. There are beautiful walks straight off the doorstep and some nice pubs nearby which made for a perfect Saturday afternoon. We hired a chef on the Saturday night and the kitchen had all the facilities set up for cooking a large dinner and the dining room had a very large table to fit us all. The location of the property was very convenient as our group were coming from London and Devon so it was the perfect in between location and a really easy drive. We all had the most memorable weekend together and wish we could have stayed longer. The hosts were very friendly and were on hand if we needed them. Candida was also great at answering all my questions and keeping in touch throughout our booking. We would love to book again in the future!

I hosted my 50th birthday here. I couldn’t be more happy. We visited in January and enjoyed the beautiful Cotswold hiking through the day, and then had a dinner party on Saturday evening. The hosts were communicative, responsive and helpful. Candida helped me find local vendors for catering and gave great suggestions for activities for our group.

Winter Wonderland
When I had the idea to get a 20 friends together for a Christmas party I was looking for a property that would be spacious enough for us all, as well as have enough activities that if it did rain the whole weekend in December we would be okay. Fortunately, the weather was bright blue and crisp and the walks from the back of the house are incredibly beautiful. We even woke up to snow on the Sunday which looking out from the beautiful big windows into the garden, and down by the Christmas tree really made it a winter wonderland! This property absolutely surpassed all my expectations, we had a kitchen disco, played games around the pool table and sang songs around the piano. The flow of the house lends itself to intimate gatherings and special time with those you love. Candida and her partner Stephen were also so responsive with all of the communications before hand and there to check us in with everything we may need. Highly recommend for friends and family alike. Thank you once again, for the most memorable weekend. We can’t wait to come back in the summer months for a warmer dip in the pool!

The weekend exceeded any expectations we could have had!
From beginning to end, our stay as a group of 23 adults was incredible. The photos of the house are not only accurate but cannot capture how stunning it is in person. Candida and Stephen have been helpful and responsive from the moment we booked, and went out of their way to gift champagne and strawberries alongside a lovely card for my partner’s birthday. Idyllic English countryside setting
If you’re looking for the quintessential countryside experience with a group, this is the place. We went as an extended family group of 11 and wanted a place some people could explore the area but mostly to have a place to stay where all could enjoy. The kids spent hours in the pool, some enjoyed experiencing waking the Cotswold Way, others walked into town for meals or a drink in the garden of the local pub, others enjoyed shopping in nearby Tetsbury or exploring the farmers market in Stroud, and some just enjoyed knitting in the formal sitting room. The house felt like staying in a castle with incredible antiques and architectural details while still having the comforts of a modern hotel. The owners were responsive and helpful and we were grateful for the special family time the rental allowed us to have. I HIGHLY recommend this unique and comfortable home.

Fabulous place for our family reunion weekend.
The house and gardens are beautiful and everything we wanted was right there on site. It was so easy to entertain the children and the grownups enjoyed the house and gardens equally. This is the most stunning and spacious house, which has been beautifully decorated and maintained by the owners. If you are looking for the WOW factor, this has it and you will not be disappointed. The house is complemented by the large swimming pool, hot tub and terrace area. The owners are a delight to deal with; personable, efficient and provide excellent customer service. Fantastic family weekend
This property is a real find. Opulent interiors, a mix of traditional and contemporary features. Each room is a treasure, it’s really grand and very big. (you will get lost at first). It’s perfect for family and friends to gather, sit by the fire and catch up, play pool with the children, chat in the hot tub, wander around outside, walk the dog, swim in the pool. We hired a chef to cater for us one night, brilliant idea and very decadent. Can’t wait to go back next year, all 22 of us agree

Fabulous stay in an absolutely gorgeous house!
Stayed here with 15 other girlfriends for my sisters hen party. The house is great gorgeous and everyone was so stunned at how gorgeous it was. It's perfect for big groups as there are plenty of bedrooms and big enough entertainment spaces. Host's communication was also great and they were very flexible with a few requests we made. We came to the manor for my 40th birthday celebrations and were blown away by how beautiful and comfortable it was. The location is perfect: close to a small shop for extra breakfast bits, direct access to the Cotswolds way and far enough away from neighbours to have privacy, although we were very conscious to follow the rules about outside noise. The manor itself is somehow even better than the photos! Every bedroom is massive and the decor is a perfect mix of classic contemporary and historic style. It easily accommodated the 15 of us and two dogs, we felt very spoiled. As added, unexpected extras, the housekeeper had very kindly put away all our food and drink delivery for us before we arrived, and had put out Prosecco, chocolates, a balloon and a card for me which was so thoughtful. We really had the best time: sunny walks, too much food, hot tub fun, and playing pool - perfect weekend away!

We spent the weekend here for my husbands 50th. Perfect location, easy to get to for all. Stunning property and facilities. The hosts were really helpful with recommendations, information beforehand, check in etc. We used the little pickle caterers who served up a fantastic meal in the wonderful dining room. The location was great and perfect for lovely walks direct from the garden. Every room was comfortable and the decor stunning ! We couldn't decide on our favourite room!! would definitely recommend.

Great time with family in lovely house
Great family holiday property for all the family, ranging from babies to great grand parents. The house had everything we could need and the grounds and outdoor facilities were amazing. The grounds were stunning and great for strolls and dog walking. We had really good weather for September and used all the outdoor seating areas, play areas, heated pool and hot tub to the full. There was something for everyone.

A fabulous time with the family
We booked this property for a delayed 80th for my mum, so the party ranged from 7 - 86! The house is enormous, much bigger than I had imagined. There were plenty of places to hide away around the house and garden if you wanted to, but lots of space to gather too. We had a fabulous time, the pool was an absolute hit with the kids being heated, so even though the weather wasn't as kind as we would have wanted you could still swim. I would stay again.

A Birthday Celebration
The accommodation was simply stunning. All of the facilities were fantastic. The hosts were so helpful and trusting with handing over this incredible property to us for a long weekend. The grounds to the property were so well maintained with stunning views across the area. The outside facilities such as the heated swimming pool, seating area and hottub were a real treat. The house was grand and full of character charm which gave a 5 star feel to the stay. This place is a credit to the hosts and their attention to detail and luxury. I can honestly say this is one of the best places I have experienced for a very very long time. Long term memories have been made as a result of our stay.

Ferney Hill was an excellent choice for our extended family of 14 to spend Christmas together. The house was lovely and warm and was decorated with numerous Christmas trees and fairy lights. We all managed to go for a lovely walk on Xmas morning thanks to the weather. Everyone had the best time

Exceptional Hen Do Weekend
This house is absolutely perfect. It's big, beautiful, clean, and full of charming details. The photos didn't do it justice, we were all wowed when we arrived on a Friday evening for a long weekend stay. Candida and Stephen were incredibly responsive in advance of the trip, and very helpful in showing us around upon arrival and answering any questions we had during the weekend. The kitchen is big and well lit, a perfect place to cook together and hang out by the cozy Aga. The outdoor seating area's wisteria was blooming during our stay (late May) which made for delightful outdoor eating. The beds were insanely comfortable. There is a Co-Op within easy walking distance, as is a gorgeous walk up to a big hill with amazing views (Stephen recommended it to us when we checked in, we could see into Wales). There is also a cute pub in town which is also an easy walk and has a great outdoor patio. We had an amazing woman named Louise come down and lead us in fascinator-making for three hours on Saturday morning while we drank mimosas and it was SUCH a fun activity (louisepocock dot com). Overall, an exceptional weekend in a very impressive house and lovely part of the Cotswolds.

Spa weekend and luxury with the whole family
As soon as you enter the gates of the Manor you feel like you’re transported to another world. The properly is full of character and is maintained to an excellent standard. It felt like a spa weekend for the whole family. Even though there are lovely walks and places to explore nearby we didn’t feel the need to leave the property as there was so much entertainment right there from the swimming pool to ping pong table to pool table. A magnificently stylish Cotswold retreat, immaculate, homely and grand - another “Pemberley”.”.
There are not enough superlatives to describe this gem of a retreat, complete with every home comfort, stylish and immaculate throughout, with thoughtful touches and wonderful facilities. 23 of us sat down to dinner in the formal dining room, breakfasted on the sunny pool patio (which was clean and warm) and lunched al fresco under the vine pagola. The owners are delightful, opening their family home to us for a heavenly hen weekend for my darling daughter, new family-to-be, and friends. Didn’t want to leave. Lauren, mother of the bride.

It is an amazing place but I knew that already!!!!!
We had a family and friends get together for our Golden Wedding Anniversary. It was exactly fifty years to the day that I left the house to get married. My parents were in charge of Ferney when it was a home for the elderley, this required our family to live on site, so it was our family home for many happy years. Some parts of Ferney had obviously changed but it still had that same homely atomosphere. It evoked many memories and I don't think we stopped exchanging reminiscences all weekend. Stephen and Candida are excellent hosts and made our stay absolutely perfect.

We rented the property to celebrate a special birthday. Pre-arrival contact and information was very responsive and informative. Warm welcome from hosts. Very comfortable property for our party of 11. We made good use of the kitchen facilities and the children enjoyed the Wii and pool table. Local town with all amenities including good butcher nearby. The million dollar question is would we stay again and the answer is absolutely.

A fantastic property with everything you could possibly need
We had a large family gathering for NY and had a great time at this fantastic house. The kids loved that they had their own play room with a TV, games, movies, so plenty for them to do, but even though it was winter they spent most of their time outside exploring and playing in the lovely (and safe) garden. The kitchen is a really lovely homely space and so well equipped that there was nothing we were left searching for and were able to cook some great meals. The pool table was a real hit with everyone. The owners were very helpful but everything we needed was in the house so didn't need to call on them. Overall everyone had a comfortable stay and we loved it so much that we will likely be back one summer so that we can also enjoy the pool!

We have just had Pre-Christmas in the Manor house at the beginning of December as we are not able to spend the real Christmas with my family this year. Everything about the weekend was perfect. The owners had decorated the house beautifully with trees and fairy lights and we spent a wonderful few days relaxing in the comfort of the lovely old house. To make things even easier we hired a chef to cook Christmas dinner on Saturday night. The meal was fantastic and it was all washed up and cleared away for us! We will definitely be back in the summer so that we can make use of the outside swimming pool! Thank you again for a fabulous and memorable weekend.

Absolutely fantastic. The place was perfect. Exactly as looked on line if not better.
This place was perfect for celebrating my 40th birthday. All rooms were of varying sizes but equal on character and suitability. We had great weather so the pool area was amazing. The hosts made everything simple from start to finish and couldn’t have been more helpful. A massive thumbs up from me and my guests to the perfect setting for a great weekend

Amazing weekend!!!!
A group of 10 of us visited Ewelme Manor for a hen do earlier this month; and I honestly couldn't say one bad word. We had the BEST time; the house is absolutely stunning; we were very lucky that we visited in a heatwave, so we spent the whole weekend around the pool; it was like we were abroad! Candida and Stephen were amazing hosts, and left a very kind welcome package and were super helpful, always at the end of the phone if we had a question. I couldn't rate this place enough; we're already planning our return visit!!!!

A fantastic property with very kind hosts!
This is a beautiful property with everything you could ask for you a great weekend. There are spacious reception rooms and bedrooms, a pool, pool house, cinema room and pool table! The house itself is very comfortable and all furniture and decoration is of the highest quality. But besides the house itself, the hosts made every step of the experience easy. They recommended caterers and local activities. They offered to be present to receive food delivery prior to our arrival and they accommodated late arrival. Their manner throughout was very warm and kind.

Ewelme Manor is the perfect place for a large gathering.
We were a party of twelve adults and three children celebrating a “special birthday”. Everything about the weekend was wonderful, including the warm sunny weather. Most of our time was spent outside, walking, playing in the pool or sitting round the huge table , eating and chatting, but I’m sure it would be just as enjoyable for a winter break as there are several squashy sofas, very big tv and lots of games for good family fun. The bedrooms are large with very comfortable beds. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses for large groups. A big thank you to Candida and Stephen for acknowledging we were celebrating a birthday. The welcome gift of fruit, chocolates, card, balloon and Champagne was a personal and perfect way to start our wonderful weekend. Thank you again. Christine , family and friends.
