Beautiful guest house in the coveted Animas Valley right on Coon Creek. 800 SF guest house offers plenty of privacy. Relax outside on the wrap around porch and enjoy the views of the Animas Valley, Engineer Mountain, and Missionary Ridge to the east. You'll feel right at home when cozied up in the living room next to the wood burning stove or relax in the air conditioning after a hot day out on the trails. If you like friendly competition, enjoy the newly installed pickle ball court and 1/2 basketball court. This is the perfect getaway for a couple looking for some peace and quiet in Southwest Colorado. The home comes equipped with a well stocked full size kitchen for anyone looking to make a delicious meal after a long day of relaxing or exploring. The guesthouse also has a washer/dryer on site for guest use. This is a special setting that has lush mature landscaping. This house is loaded with character and the location couldn't be better! 15 minutes to downtown Durango, and 15 minutes to Purgatory Ski Resort. Bed Configuration: Master Bedroom - King Bed (Main Level) Admit it, wouldn't you rather be here? This home is available to be rented for long-term stays (availability dependent). Please inquire for special pricing. Pet Policy No dogs are allowed unless prearranged with the management company. There is an additional pet fee of $100 per dog per reservation. Maximum of 1 small dog allowed. Dog must not exceed 40 pounds. Renters are responsible for their pet(s) at all times and must ensure all solid wastes have been picked up and disposed of before departure. There will be a $500 fine if there is an unauthorized pet on the property. NO Smoking anywhere on the premises. Guests will be sent a vacation rental agreement by Durango Colorado Vacations (the property manager) to e-sign at the time of booking. A friendly reminder before you book your stay, is to remember we are trusted to manage independent and family-owned homes. We simply ask that you treat these homes and properties with the same respect that you would expect one to treat yours. Due to a recent uptick in unauthorized guest, pets and gatherings. We are implementing a strict "one strike" policy for any guest that are found having any unauthorized gatherings, pets or guest with them in the home. Failure to disclose any of the stated above will result in immediate termination of stay with no refund being issued for unused nights. Please note that most properties are outfitted with outdoor security cameras. Cancellation Policy: If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that are made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival will receive a 100% refund minus a $250 cancellation fee. Between (29) days and fifteen (15) days before arrival, guest will be refunded 50% of the reservation amount. (14) days or less to arrival, no refunds given. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date to receive a 100% refund minus a $250 cancellation fee Cancellations made between thirty one (31) days in advance of your arrival and (59) days will receive a 50% refund. We had only to bring our own groceries for the week as the cottage is perfectly equipped with everything we needed. The bed is comfortable and management is quick to respond if there are any problems. We've spent two days Jeeping in the high country and two days fishing( very successfully) at both Lakes Haviland and Molas. The leaves were at their peak this year making Last Dollar Road, Owl Creek Pass, the Million Dollar Highway and the San Juan Skyway particularly beautiful. It is located perfectly for us as we are golfers. VERY close to Dalton Ranch and convenient to Glacier. A short drive into town as well. There is a small grocery store very close and the City Market is a short drive. The kitchen is well supplied, although we couldn't find any baking sheets. The WIFI didn't work per instructions so I was given a different way to get WIFI, which was not reliable. The WIFI situation needs to be looked into. We noticed that the mattress is starting to slump in the middle and should be replaced. We got warm every night while sleeping and had trouble getting the AC program to stay cooler at night for us. ##### Kayleen K. Jul 4, 2023 #### Cottage on the Creek is fabulous Sweet cottage, well appointed, with spectacular views. Very peaceful and relaxing. The yard is full of flowers that invite hummingbirds and butterflies. Easy access to downtown and great restaurants. The cottage was perfect for two people. It was clean and had everything we needed. It is located in a secluded, beautiful area, but close enough to enjoy surrounding activities in Durango, Silverton, and Ouray. I would highly recommend this cottage if you are looking for a peaceful getaway. ##### Leisa H. Close enough to Durango in case you need to get any food or eat out but remote enough to where you are just hearing the creek and the birds. Cabin has everything you need, including a wonderful deck to sit and enjoy a beverage and take in the nature. Check in process was a breeze and only ding would be finding it can be a little tough and directions could be a little clearer on finding it. But we will be back ##### Kyle B. Sep 4, 2019 #### Quiet and peaceful If you are looking for something quiet and beautiful then this is your place. We just loved the sound of the creek and overlooking it on the back porch was a great way to end the day. There was a lot to do for outdoor activity and the owner was so nice and helpful. I was very thankful for his hospitality and knowledge of the areas. There is no negative aspects to this house. It's clean comfortable peaceful and quiet.
