- ![St. John’s Point Lighthouse was first exhibited in 1844. The original lighthouse was painted white. In 1902 three black bands were added. Its current markings of black with two yellow bands have been in place since 1954.  
The color of the light was changed from white to red on 1st July 1860. The tower was originally only 14m tall. It was extended to its current dizzying height of 40m in the 1880's and is now the tallest onshore lighthouse on the Irish coast. The lighthouse was automated in 1981.  
St John’s Point is the perfect place for a quick visit or a proper refreshing time out. It is easily accessible by car.

This is a lovely property on the shores of Strangford Lough. Ideal for a relaxing weekend.

It was a clean humble place to stay. The shower was an emergent heater style. Every few seconds, the water went cold. There was a kitchen, livingroom, as well as 2 bedrooms. We loved the layout of the place.

#### Take the time to enjoy this lovely place! 

This was a FABULOUS stop during our around the country tour of Ireland! I HIGHLY recommend using the deep tub and reading a book! I also recommend downloading and using What's App so you can contact the host. We were nervous at first when we couldn't find our previous e-mail on our phones but Phillip sent a second e-mail and then we were gran! The biggest problem was not being able to phone because of the UK's restriction on long distance numbers. (Again, What's App is a great suggestion!) We liked that it has a washer/dryer in one but be prepared for your clothes to be horribly wrinkled afterward. (No fault of the host, just need to be aware.) Also, there are 4 sets of stairs (equivalent to 2 sets in the US) and no elevator/lifts. Again, just so guests are aware if you have heavy bags. There is a lovely cafe on the first floor of the apartment but it does not open before 9am! The hosts left a book of suggestions and once we were able to make contact with one another, the visit was wonderful! I would recommend this apartment to others. Take advantage of the SPAR store down the street and prep breakfast at the apartment. My only feedback for the hosts are a pour over for coffee vs. the coffee pods, and a fresh sponge for cleaning dishes.

The property was really spacious and clean. The hosts were helpful when we reached out. It’s also situated at the centre of the town. The townsfolk were really nice and friendly. The only downside is the local transport to belfast city centre which is quite limited and did not seem to operate on Sunday, we were actually lucky to have our own car. Other than that, if you’re looking to have a nice quiet time, this is the place to be

High quality accommodation with everything needed for a quiet and extremely comfortable stay . Excellent location for local amenities including great pub and Stragford Lough walks . Good base for days out to Mourne Mountains and beautiful coastal drives . No hesitation in recommending.

Great location to stay just outside of Belfast. Made daily trips around Northern Ireland and the location was a perfect hub to make it happen.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay; accommodation warm and comfortable with good space. Little touches like the armchair in the little hall area and the complimentary coffee were appreciated. Location good for easy access around Co Down, with the delightful Delamont Country park on the doorstep.

#### THE best apartment I’ve stayed in 

Excellent apartment. Furnished very well with fresh surroundings and nice touches. This apartment is well laid out with the comfiest bed I have ever slept in - this is better than any hotel. Communication is excellent from the owners with any requirements if needed answered.

#### Can’t be better!!!!

This place is my child’s favourite accomodation so far around the whole world trips. The landlord is super friendly. The flat is well equipped and clean. Wonderful stay we had! We will definitely stay here again if we come back !
