Thank you very much for your review. We really appreciate the encouragement as well as the constructive comments regarding soundproofing. We are continuously upgrading the sound proofing - apparently, one of the main reasons that sound travels quite well through the hotel is that we elected to install engineered wooden floors to create a much more hygienic room space. Unfortunately this means that we do not benefit from the sound dampening property of carpet. We are, continuously working to improve sound insulation. Last year we installed quadrupel windows and this month we will be installing special sound insulation around the doors which is usually used in recording studios.We hope to welcome you again at the Halvard Hotel.

Last year we managed to largely exclude street noise by replacing our double glazing with acoustic quadruple glazing and, although this has worked well in excluding noise from the active nightlife in the Douglas Bay, it seems to “trap” internal noise in the hotel and we are now working at improving the sound insulation between rooms.
