"We arrived quite early, not expecting that we could check in to the room. The checkin was efficient and we were given the room key within 10 minutes. Several reviews were critical of the wifi service in the guest rooms. We experienced reliable service and were able to stream videos. Also the hotel lives up to its name - it is very clean!"

"Sa situation extraordinaire qui donne directement sur l’artère principale Didouche Mourad, on peut s’y promener jusqu’à la grande poste et sites historiques où c’est pas mal animée. Le métro est a deux pas et les arrêts de bus aussi, la gare de train un peu plus bas. C’est propre et j’ai eu droit a un bel accueil, franchement je ne demande pas plus ! "

"When I checked at the hotel, a manager told me that I needed to pay 10000 DZ($75) to use the pool, which was was included in my reservation. Then he said that I’m not allowed to the pool because I’m a single guy and it was only reserved for women. Their website or Expedia description doesn’t mention anything like that. I mainly paid to use the hotel amenities such as the pool but ended up not been allowed. Very disappointing. "

This fine medresa and mosque was built in 1904 by French architect Henry Petit in beautiful harmonic neo-moorish style. It is named after marabout (patron saint of the city) Sidi Abd-er- rahman-et-Thalbi (1387-1471), hence the Thaalibiya name. It has served as a school of islamic law,  general islamic school for muslim children and as a mosque.

"Shuttle bus is a joke! You must stop deceiving people with this non existent service! Stranded at airport for more than an hour waiting for your driver in vain! Bathtubs in 2 different rooms are blocked water does get drained! Lightings in rooms and bathroom are so dim! Furniture is very very old and crapy! Strangers and non guests walk in from the street and use elevators to access rooms upstairs to do what exactly only God knows!!!! This is an honest advise to tourists visiting Alger just stay away and don’t ruin your visit staying at this shady place!"

"The hotel was modern with the room being clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The only downside was the noise from the busy road at the front of hotel. Reception were very helpful and quickly moved me to another room at the back of the hotel for the second night of my stay."

"Very difficult people at reception on two different stays denied that I had a reservation despite showing Expedia paid booking. First room had mold on walls and a tiny bathroom and required that we climb four sets of circular stairs at 2 am. Second room was much better and bathroom was fine but air conditioner did not work. Breakfast pastry was sometimes not fresh. Location was good but no one speaks English only French."
