The landscaping was amazing, and my son loved watching the trout in the pond. We loved all the birds and the hiking trails. The grounds of Trogon Lodge were so lush and beautiful, and photos cannot capture their enchanting beauty. For people with mobility issues, be aware that the lodge is a steep slope and could be difficult for some. Quite magical! We dined at the restaurant and the food was delicious- with many selections. Breakfasts were also delicious with plenty of options. We enjoyed walking the Lodge's trails and grounds, early-morning and had 7 sightings of the beautiful Quetzals. It rained one afternoon so we enjoyed sitting at the bar sipping on hot tea and reading our books as we listened to the rain. Restaurants was 7/10 at best, few options actually but there are really good restaurants nearby. Included breakfast was really good. Rooms are small but comfortable, heater was actually good (place is cold weather) but cleaning and amenities were lacking. Our lodgings are super clean, Cozy and unique. They are located in a gorgeous park with lots of beautiful plants, trees , and a pond with fish. The Savegre river runs through the property. Lush vegetation. There is a great 3 km hiking trail, and there are a couple of shorter trails. There is a lovely restaurant on the property that serves great food. They are very willing to accommodate any dietary restrictions. They offered to prepare a take out, custom-made breakfast for us tomorrow, ready at 6 am since we have to leave early to catch a plane in San Jose! There is also a nice bar in a separate building with a pool table. The service at this place is outstanding. I’m very impressed!
