The hotel was dirty and full of dogs running around barking all night we had no sleep 😴 plus they had a power cut on nye at 4pm so couldn’t get ready or do my hair come back just before midnight to no champagne as promised and no fireworks it was a shambles

Great Accommodation with Great Service.
Really good service from the moment we arrived. Offered to dry our soggy clothes from a snowdon trip and also kept the bar open as long as we wanted on the night. Will definitely be back!

You’re welcome that you receive isn’t the friendliest the rooms are very dated but that’s fine but we stayed above the kitchen and all we heard till 11-12 at night was banging of doors and load talking

A perfect place to stay
Elen’s Castle Hotel proved to be the perfect place for a few days away in Wales. The Hotel was clean, tidy, Covid safe, welcoming and comfortable. The staff were very friendly! The food from the restaurant was amazing! There was a good choice and between us, a family of four and we ate there both nights we were there, every course was perfect! We will definitely be back - thank you!

Weird, redecorated bar, redecorated bar lounge (both this year), redecorated reception area autumn 2019, redecorated ladies and gents loos during lockdown. All bedrooms redecorated in the last few years. Not sure what you are referring to. Perhaps the character and charm of an 18th century inn escaped you and you perhaps are better suited to a Premier Inn?

Very enjoyable stay. With welcoming Hosts.
Really enjoy our stay. My dad and I really enjoyed ourselves and was very impressed with how well the hotel was ran, especially with COVID 19. Great staff who were very welcoming and we will definitely stay here again. All round great hotel and very greatful for the information given about climbing snowdon. Thank you.

We do have a selection of rooms to choose from and the room descriptions outline the size of the ensuites clearly. Perhaps a larger ensuite was not available at the time of your booking. Sorry. Not too impressed....
Accommodation was spacious and had all one would expect, however, in terms of value-for-money we were somewhat disappointed. Breakfast was okay, but limited, and the timing surprisingly restricted - 8-9 a.m. And no boiled eggs!!!

What a shame you were disappointed. Our breakfasts are overwhelmingly praised so this us very unusual. We offer scrambled, poached and fried eggs. Never mind, at least you only stayed for one night so your holiday was not too spoiled by your lack of boiled eggs and unlimited breakfast time. :(

When I watched Rick Steve’s show on Wales, I had no clue what he mean by feisty and poetic, that is, until I stayed at Elen’s Castle... Well, at least the surrounding area is nice!

Elen's castle
me and wife stayed there for a weekend. nice simple room very small but problably what we payed for. not far from attractions such as Pen-y-pas. bodnant garden to name a fiew. small pub with things to see and read on the walls nice and quiet resturant with excellent food LAMB SHANK do i need to say more staff was nice both breakfast and evening. the saturday evening girl was very friendly. and the family/owners were very friendly. we have nothing bad to say or anything we would like to improve about the stay it was just great so that is our view.
