What a wonderful stay! The castle itself has lots of charm and history. The staff were helpful and kind and the food was excellent! A bit of a hike into the town so you will probably need a car or taxi from the main train station but cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves.
A little out of the way for us, but the property and restaurant was nice. Our meal was really good and the staff very friendly. Our room was comfortable as well.
We had an amazing room. Absolutely beautiful. Dinner was very good. Loved staying in a castle. We were not told at check-in that you had to hang sign on door for housekeeping so room was not made up. We enjoyed our stay though.
I thought that it could have been a little cleaner, the front desk personnel were amazing. All in all it wasn’t terrible but I wouldn’t stay there again.
Cool property. 4 poster bed room was very spacious. Wish we were told more about the castle history and story about it being haunted. Food was not the best and expensive. Wish location was in a more accessible area. Overall, unique experience with friendly staff and castle itself was cool.
Absolutely loved this hotel. Beautiful room. The pub was great and had excellent food. The ghost liked to make its presence known by rotating locks and opening and closing doors. Kind of cool, not frightening. Would stay here again.
The castle was a great experience. It was beautifully decorated and our room was spacious and clean.
We had dinner at the bar and it was SUPERB!
We had a wonderful stay.
Thank you!
Our room was excellent! Clean and spotless and comfortable. Our meals and portions were very good! The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Even though it was very late in the evening, the front desk person managed to have our laundry done and outside our door in the morning! Would definitely stay there again!
We booked a night here as part of our 25th anniversary trip, staying in the Oak room, and it was one of the greatest highlights of our entire trip. The warm welcome upon arrival and beautifully maintained room in the original section of the castle all set the stage for a memorable stay (my wife especially liked the copper tub). We had a delicious dinner at the Green Lady pub (rounded out with dessert and a single malt). One of the high points was the history/ghost tour given by Rodney the night porter. We can't thank him enough, as the history of the castle as well as events there or in the area blew us away. Can't recommend enough!
The staff are great! Greetings were sincerely warm and welcoming. All staff eager to help and they work together as a cohesive team - exceptional!
Dinner was delicious.
Our room was amazing! Clean and spacious. We were fortunate to have a balcony overlooking the property- just beautiful.
My room was clean, all amenities were in the room; i had dinner in the bar, fantastic food; had a Scottish breakfast in the dining room...staff were extremely kind, friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking..
Food amazimg.
Great castle stay. You can wander around the property and get a look at the other rooms of the castle. Free easy on-site parking. Staff was great. Little pub in the basement with walk-out garden seating to have a beverage. As with it being an old castle, it has and old charm and fun to explore. Bummed the ghost story person was t=not there for our stay - would have loved to hear. Recommended. Only potential issue, there is no lift and 3 floors potentially. Would stay again. Had breakfast here, was the only thing that was unremarkable.
This was such a quaint and unique experience. I just wish we could've stayed longer. The staff was kind and accommodating, the Davidson Room was much larger than expected, and the property was beautiful.
Our stay was great. Service was good. Room was clean and big. Dinner and breakfast was wonderful. The extra bonus was the ghost tour, gave us some good old history of the castle. We had a lovely stay. Thank you.
The idea of staying in a castle in Scotland was great. When we got there it didn't disappoint in that it had the character of a castle and wandering around the place was nice.
The bar area was also very warm and comfortable and the cooked breakfast was good. The additional breakfast bits like the cooked pastries though were hard.
Overall, the place was good but i felt it would be even better if it had a new lick of paint as it looked slightly tired in places.
Glad we stayed there and was a good place to start our journey for our trip.
Clean room. Nice bathroom. Incredibale castle ambience. Friendly staff. Parking included. Didnt get a chance to try the restaurant. This place is awesome! Can't wait to stay again!
