The property looks brand new and the rooms are extremely comfortable and well put together with great decor and conveniences. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Just steps from beach and Dewey Post across the street.

The Staff was excellent, have never felt so welcomed. The room was beautiful and clean, the pictures online do not do it justice. The place was recently renovated and you could tell. Location was perfect, the truck never had to move was able to walk to great bars and a great beach. Highly highly recommended

Property was great and recently redone. Staff was very friendly and its in a great location. Only slight thing is the walls are a little thin but its quiet at night.

Relax by the beach :)
We really enjoyed our stay, we loved the relaxed beach vibe and decor. We had a minor problem on arrival but it was quickly dealt with. Parking is easy and check in was a breeze.

Great place to stay in Dewey!
This little motel is so quaint and clean! I love the surf motif and how simple, yet thoughtfully it was decorated. Andre made sure that we were taken care of and we had a wonderful stay!

I cannot say enough good things about the Surf Shanty Motel! Love the look of it, and the location! The level of cleanliness was outstanding! There were so many little details that made us feel welcome and comfortable for the duration of our stay! The people on staff were some of the nicest, friendliest people I've encountered! Specifically, Andre was so great to talk to, and very attentive to all matters! We wish our stay had been longer! Looking forward to getting back there again soon!

Beautiful updated decor, fantastic location … steps from the beach, cafés, trolley and restaurant. friendly & eager service, laid back vibe. Clean. Wished there was more space within property to sit and lay out beach towels but definitely not a deal breaker. Would return.

An unbeatable gem! The Surf Shanty exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be back. Very clean, well decorated, comfortable beds, and the toiletries were a nice bonus. Only steps away from the beach, and the free beach cruisers were super cool and great for going to the restaurants and shops. I’m very picky when it comes to hotels and this one was a pleasant surprise. For those who need onsite restaurants or other amenities this may not be for you but if you want a super clean, super safe and super cool hotel this is for you. Of note, there is no closet and minimal drawers but still worth every penny. Thank you for such a pleasant stay!

The location was as stated just a few minutes to walk to beach. Place was very clean and decorated nicely. Cons included no place to dry/hang swim suits/towels. An extra coat rack would be nice or small folding drying rack would be nice to be able to dry out wet gear for the beach. Also another chair as there was only one.

The motel was very nicely decorated and clean. Within walking distance to the beach restaurants etc. The free bikes were an added touch ! I would definitively stay here again

Besties weekend Getaway😊
Absolute delight. Everything was clean, short walk to the beach, free bike riding and rooms are newly renovated. My bestie and I were pleasantly surprised. Andre, the manager, was very polite, friendly and informative. It was a pleasure to finally have great customer service from Andre. We will definitely be staying here again.

My family and I saw this cute place online and thought we had to give it a try. I was given an access code prior to arrival and found the room super clean and well decorated. The location was perfect- onsite parking, a 2 block walk to restaurants and in the same block as the beach. We will definitely return.

Loved our time here. The cleanest place we have ever stayed. It’s modern and really nice. It’s close to everything and we walked everywhere. The beach is right there. Andre was very nice and available if we needed anything.

Great, friendly hotel in ideal location.
My wife took our daughter out to a lacrosse tournament and we found this hotel for them to stay at and told others. Friends of ours stayed the week before and raved about the location and friendliness of the owner/manager. When my wife and daughter arrived, they agreed, the manager (wish I knew his name) was the best- very inviting, accommodating, and friendly. We are looking to return next Summer.

We had a wonderful stay at the Surf Shanty for our girls' trip! The rooms were very welcoming, clean, and comfortable, and the outdoor shower was perfect for getting the sand off before going into our room. The location of this motel cannot be beat - steps away from the beach, shopping, and restaurants. Finally, the check-in process was nice and easy, and the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

So Clean and Refreshing! The room has everything you need, and the location is perfect for the weekends. Very walkable, but just far enough away from the bars that you don’t hear the bands playing at night!

A hidden gem! Property and rooms are kept extremely clean. Simple rooms but with comfortable beds and all the amenities you need. The place is cutely decorated. The front desk is nice and helpful. Parking is easy. It’s less than a block to a beach that’s relatively quiet. It’s walkable to everything in Dewey. We’ll certainly return.
