Cannot say enough about this hotel; everything from the views to the room and amenities absolutely excellent. Ian and Linda, the owners were incredibly attentive and discreet. Breakfasts the best we've ever had - homemade and absolutely fresh in every respect.

We haven't been to the area in many years, and it was nice to be back if only for a few days

Well worth the visit, fab location and lovely country hotel. The restaurant is worth a visit as great local food cooked to perfection.

Well appointed rooms with good facilities and modern bathroom. Breakfast catered for all tastes with home made granola, fresh fruit, European and Full English freshly cooked to order; the staff will even provide special dietary need, if advised early.

We stayed for two nights at the Highcliffe and the rooms, food and welcome were first class. This hotel is beautifully kept. The owners have taken great pride in all its aspects. It perches high on the hill beside Lynton and gives great views all round. We will certainly be going back there again.

We found Muddifords Court online after a frustrating day and despite a late arrival our host (sorry useless with names - 21, with beard) made us welcome and spent time telling us a bit of the history of the accommodation. Driving down the tree lined avenue, across the gravelled Dave, past the immaculately manicured lawns to the quintessentially English Country House, we knew we had made the right choice. We stayed in App,e room which had an eclectic mixture of furnishing that 'worked'. The bathroom was classical French with a huge bathtub - big enough for Keith! We should have ordered breakfast - but will next time

Everything excellent. We were on top floor (has lift) so our room was a little warm/stuffy (But in all fairness it was 27 degrees). Would highly recommend this hotel.

My fiance and I visited Exeter for a nice romantic weekend and found the location and staff to both be excellent. The room was extremely comfortable, clean, very well appointed and all the facilities were top notch. The check-in and check-out process was great, even if the lobby is pretty small / cramped, and the staff were very helpful indeed throughout our stay. While there are (inevitably) some idiosyncracies with a property of this age and history - the stairs / elevator, lack of parking and cramped corridors for example - these have to be expected and the views and location more than make up for these in our opinion. Would we go back? ABSOLUTELY!!! We had a wonderful stay.
