"The hotel was easy to get to. The guy at the front desk was helpful and pointed out a nice walking trail and good restaurants. The only problem we ran into was that they weren’t at the desk when we wanted to check-in and then he couldn’t be reached by phone. But after we came back a couple of hours later he was there. "

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Devesos?
The best area to stay in Devesos is the historic village centre, particularly around Praza da Igrexa and Rua Principal.

This area forms the heart of Devesos, characterised by its traditional Galician stone architecture, narrow cobbled streets, and a relaxed pace of life. You'll find the parish church, a few local shops, and traditional eateries dotted around the main square and along Rua Principal. It's a compact and easily walkable area.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will find the village centre perfect. The evenings are calm, allowing for quiet strolls and relaxed dinners at local tavernas. It's an excellent base for exploring the surrounding countryside and coastline during the day, returning to a tranquil setting.

For travellers who appreciate authentic local experiences and a connection to the region's heritage, staying in the village centre offers just that.
When is the best time to go to Devesos?
The best time to visit Devesos is during the late spring (May to June) or early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the region is less crowded.

Late spring offers mild temperatures, ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the area, like the nearby Fragas do Eume Natural Park, without the intensity of summer heat. The countryside is lush and green, and you'll find local festivals beginning to take place, offering a glimpse into Galician culture. This period is particularly good for couples looking for a romantic getaway with opportunities for scenic walks and enjoying local cuisine at a relaxed pace.

Early autumn provides warm, comfortable days and cooler evenings, great for outdoor activities such as hiking or visiting the vineyards of the Ribeira Sacra. The harvest season brings a special vibrancy to the region, and many local eateries feature seasonal produce.
