Yamagata Prefecture Cheap Hotels from CA $38

Grand but somewhat dated. Room was larger than I expected. Bed comfortable. Bathroom acceptable and functional, though furnishings quite old. Friendly and helpful staff.

Breakfast was great. The room was clean and well renovated or maintained

This was a great place to stay as we passed through Fukushima. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though our Japanese was not great. The hotel is clean and the rooms are comfortable. There is also a free drinks machine in the lobby, which was a great touch. The breakfast buffet was also wonderful and I'd highly suggest trying it out. Parking is on-site, and was ¥1,000 during our visit in September 2026. Would highly recommend this place to anyone else!

Nice, low-key guesthouse. Great value. Wonderful, kind owner!

Amazing

For the price this was a great place to stay! Close to the Sendai station so getting to and from were a breeze! Also close to some really good restaurants. No complaints, they held my bag before the check-in time so I could explore Sendai. If you're looking for a cheap-ish but comfortable place to stay this is the spot!

Hotel is located about 3 km outside of downtown Sendai on the bank of a river. View of the river and the far shore is excellent. Hotel has no garden or grounds. Outside of hotel needs a cleanup; inside is very clean. Check-in is not until 6:00 pm; which was very inconvenient. Staff were helpful. Breakfasts are selected from a set menu at time of check-in and are placed outside your room in the morning.
