!["The King's Little Pathway" spans the El Chorro gorge at a height of 100m.  It was built in the early 1900s as an access path between nearby hydroelectric plants.  The bridge got it's name in 1921 when King Alfonso XIII crossed it to help inaugurate a new dam.

The path rises to the bridge from either side of the gorge, snaking dramatically along the sheer cliff face.  In recent years the path has been closed to all but rock-climbers, as many portions of the pathway had crumbled away.  

However, the Spanish government recently completed a three-year restoration of the pathway, including guardrails, and it just opened yesterday - March 28, 2015!  The 6€ entrance fee will be waived for the first six months, but you'll need to make reservations in advance: http://bit.ly/1BzhH8Y.  Also, bear in mind that the path is one-way, so check the return bus schedule, or book a return crossing as well!

"Todo bien, lo recomiendo, el propietario muy atento y da solucion de inmediato lo que se pida, la casa comoda y hermosa, las habitacion bien. Solo podria decir algo que no tiene que ver con el propietario, que de esta experiencia lo unico mal es que la plataforma de Vrbr hasta ahora no me sloucion a lo que prometio porque, por causas agenas a nosotros perdimos la estancia anterior y he hablado ya con 5 comerciales y cada uno dice que ya pasa la incidencia a otro departamento y me piden mails...

"Everything about this villa was perfect we had the most enjoyable week and I would certainly recommend it especially to large parties, there were 13 of us and we had a ball, Mari is a most gracious host and very helpful, I would go back in a heartbeat if I ever needed a large villa again, they have everything you would ever need,loved it."

"A really magical stay. The views from the house are amazing, from both the front and rear terraces. To the rear you see the national park and hills, to the front you have close proximity of you own personal mountain. The house has everything that you need. The kitchen has everything, and more importantly is a very easy space to cook and prepare, whilst others drift around you! The short drive to the village gives also amazing views, past herds of goats with bells. Colin is very helpful and encouraged us to visit the local fiesta whilst we were there, which offered super paella at 2 euros a head. We have already booked for next year."

"We had a very nice stay, the villa was great, with great outside space too, the pool was a very nice size and the villa is in a great location for golf, or even trips to local towns. Was given great advice before the stay by Simon and Sergiu was a great help and very friendly too, we would definitely stay again and highly recommend to all."
