![The Church of St. George is one of eleven monolithic churches in Lalibela.

Carved from solid red volcanic rock in the 12th century, it is the most well known and last built of the eleven churches in the Lalibela area, and has been referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”. 

Lalibela, King of Ethiopia, sought to recreate Jerusalem, and structured the churches landscape and religious sites in such a way as to achieve such a feat. The churches at Lalibela are clustered in two major groups, one representing the earthly Jerusalem, and the other representing the heavenly Jerusalem. Located directly between them is a trench representing the River Jordan.

"The location is great if you know your way around Addis, some staff members really makes an effort to make your stay pleasant while some are outright rude and hostile. I was not able to use the GYM area on the weekend as they do not allow customers staying in the hotel to use the facilities on weekends, the lady looking after the facility gave me a very rude speech about the rules being the rules. Overall there are better options for the price and I would not recommend the place."

"The staff was amazing. They were really helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay. The staff at the reception were really caring and nice. Since there was construction work in front of the hotel and the taxis were not able to come close, the reception staff accompanied us to the taxi just to make sure we're safe and made it to the right cab."
