The staff esp the older guy who received us was very welcoming. The room was tidy & beds were comfy. Breakfast was a "star" since they cook it while waiting. Not greasy and my 2 boys enjoyed the food. We will definitely come back in the future!
This was just what was required on a stormy winter’s night. Lots of parking. Barry the publican was a great host and kept me entertained with a good chat by the fire with a glass of wine. The room was large, well equipped and non-corporate which was a welcome change from other places I have stayed. Best poached egg on toast for breakfast. Can highly recommend.
Extremely good value for money, the room was clean, roomy and comfortable. Ample parking and a quiet location, easy to reach but away from major roads. Fairly standard menu for dinner, but the fish and chips were excellent and the bar looked well stocked. Tasty and generous breakfast.
An excellent place to stay, very comfortable and well appointed rooms. The food was basic but very well cooked and presented.
Its a little bit 'off the beaten track' but well worth the few miles drive to get there.
Its hard to rate this place. When i stayed they had just lost their chef and the owner to his credit was in the kitchen. The menu thus was written on the back of a till receipt and the service, understandibly slow. However everyone was doing their best and again to his credit the owner got up eary to cook me a very good breakfast at seven on the morning. The sort of extra service which is very rare these days.
The decor was reminiscent of the seventies but spotless throughout and there were nice individual touches.
The place grew on me and my dog loved the ham.
If i'm ever in the area again i will look this place up
Typical old English pub beautifully redecorated, spacious, comfy beds, includes nearly all facilities, even fan for hot days, spacious outdoor garden seating, bbq area & meals from bar.Plenty of parking ,quiet village location. No mini fridge, maybe ask for hairdryer. Highly recommend staying here.
"I simply can't praise this place enough, and the star of the show for me has to be their Full English breakfast. It was nothing short of perfection! Every element, from the crispy fried bread to the savory sausages and perfectly cooked eggs, was a symphony of flavors that left me absolutely delighted. If you're a fan of a hearty breakfast done right, this place is an absolute must-visit. I can't wait to return for another round of their fantastically delicious Full English breakfast!"
We would thoroughly recommend this B&B for a quiet relaxing break. Barry is very friendly & welcoming and the breakfast in particular was excellent. Our room (no 3) was spacious and clean with a fairly compact but adequate en suite. Own transport is essential because of the location being well off the beaten track.
great little find
Barry the owner is great. He needs as many people staying as possible which will really help him - so give it a go. Much more friendly than a Travel Inn/Premier lodge and in such a great quiet location. Decent pub food too, but breakfast was brill.
I'll be back when i next need to stay in the area
We were surprised how good the White Horse was! For a small country pub the facilities were outstanding. The attention to detail in the room was excellent. We would have no problem recommending this accommodation to anyone looking for the perfect place to stay in Norfolk.
Really lively b&b.
Room was spacious and clean.
The breakfast was so good.
The village is very quiet and peaceful, just waht we needed.
Its a good base to stay.
An excellent stay with an attentive host and well cooked food representing excellent value for money. I would stay there again without hesitation if visiting the area in future.
I stayed for 2 nights whilst on business and I was pleasantly surprised by every part of my stay. I was made to feel welcome, and the room was perfect too, making the whole experience excellent.
5 star excellence. Accommodation, food, room facilities and Bar services could not be faulted. In a quiet country location but worth every penny. The Landlord, Barry, was a great advert for the White Horse and I would recommend a visit for anyone visiting the Dereham, Norfolk area.
