We are not a Party House! We require Peace and Quiet for all of our Guests. We keep a place You can come back to. AT LEAST A THREE-NIGHT STAY is required, Shorter stays only as fill-ins. Extended stays are welcome. We follow all of the special cleaning & disinfecting procedures set by the county and state. "By The Bay" shares one of the most spectacular, ever-changing, Ocean Views on the entire coast with "Tidal Raves", one of the most popular Ocean Front Restaurants. The Wave Action is Unique, Exciting, and Therapeutic, especially during Frequent Winter Storms. We also enjoy our own Marine Garden View during low tides. The Charter Boats come into our view as they find the Whales. We enjoy an Ocean Front City Park across the highway from our property. The average temperature here on the Central Coast during late Spring through Summer & early Fall is 60 to 70 degrees. We have very few flying insects. A Mosquito on the deck is very rare if ever. This is a People Watchers paradise. You are going to see a lot of people enjoying the very same, special Oceanview & taking their Family Photos & Videos. We offer great value & a most Entertaining, Soothing, Therapeutic, ever-changing Ocean View. Don't forget the ever-changing sky! Besides crashing on the rocks, the waves often come from three different directions & explode together, towering as much as 50+ feet. We have our own Water Geyser, out on the large Rock Formation, looking Just like the famous "Spouting Horn", located at the Sea Wall in the central business area of Depoe Bay. During high water, there can be up to 5 waterfalls flowing from that rock formation. Of course, the Ocean puts on a VERY SPECIAL SHOW during the Winter months. Especially during the storms! There are miles of picture-postcard sandy beaches in both directions, within 2 miles both north & south of Depoe Bay. The Local Charter Boats come into our view to Watch the Whales You should plan your visits to the beach before noon because the northern Trade Winds average about 10+ MPH in the afternoon during the summer months. We are allowing a 1 Month's notice for a full refund or a 2 weeks notice for a 50% refund. We have added an Ozone Air Purifier. We are taking additional, special care in our cleaning & disinfecting of all the often-touched surfaces such as counters, chairs, door handles, keypads, bathroom & kitchen surfaces, etc. We wash all our laundry with Hot water using "Tide" with bleach. You may consider bringing your own pillows, for your further comfort. We are centrally located and within easy walking distance to all of Depoe Bay. Our rentals are at least 60' above The Ocean & only 100 yds. from the spectacular rocky shoreline. There is the 1/4 mile Sea Wall & the main part of town to the South. Enjoy Whale watching, either from your vacation home or with any one of the many fine charter boats docked in the World's smallest natural, navigable harbor. Depoe Bay is located in an oceanfront, deep water, rocky coastline area. There are carpeted stairs with a double-hand railing up to the other two sleeping areas. There is a loft & a private bedroom. There is a sanitary porta potty in each of these rooms, for your middle-of-the-night convenience, with the stairs & all. Gas Log Fireplace, Dell PC, Win10 operating system, fast WiFi Internet service, 46" TV in the living room. 40" TV in King Bedroom. 32" Monitors with DVD Movie Players in both of the other 2 bedrooms. There is a large library of books, games, Movies, and music. There is a large full kitchen with all newer appliances. Range/Oven, Refrigerator, Microwave, Dishwasher, small electric appliances, cookware & utensils. Everything you will need for cooking. Washer/Dryer, Ironing board & iron, completely furnished, all bedding and towels included. 32' of continuous Ocean View Windows.16' Ocean view deck with a Weber BBQ. gas grill. There is a 100x67' secure, fenced-in compound with covered parking on the East side of the home. There is a one-bedroom, 700 sq ft. Apt. on the ground floor, in the same building, with the entrances on different levels & opposite sides of the building, with the same view, available for 2 Adults. Newport's scenic "Yaquina Bay" Bridge & historic waterfront, 'Oregon Coast Aquarium', OSUs 'Hatfield Marine Science Center & their research Vessel Wecoma, US Coast Guard, NOAA, (Northern Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) are also located in Newport, with several research vessels. There are miles of wonderful public sandy beaches. We were delayed getting by air travel and the owner offered us an extra day at no cost. We loved the location. Close enough to walk to lots of shopping and a short drive to explore the Newport aquarium and all Newport has to offer. We loved watching the King Tides from the wide open living & Dining room windows. The hosts do mention the noise from the neighboring Chinese Restaurant & bar. They mention a 6 foot buffer that reduces noise. However, if you're not a bar / karaoke fan late into the night (midnight -1am) then I'd look elsewhere as it's right out of the bedroom window and above any buffer that may be there. We've stayed here several times and it never fails to make us happy! Easy in and out, wonderful caring landlord, ocean views, and across the street from our favorite place to eat! This place is a bit funky, like the landlord, with lots of non-designer furnishings and a strong beach vibe. All the pots, pans, and kitchenware you need, but also lots of carry-out menus for all of the places nearby to eat. We'll definitely be back! ##### David & Jan B. There were even some upgrades made since we were here last summer. The place was clean and well furnished. Location is excellent and the view of the bay is super. Looking directly out at the north end of Depoe Bay with windows across the wall, and a short walk down to the shops. Fully equipped with electronics, telescope, etc. Books and games. Great kitchen. Our wonderful little house had a terrific view although it was partially blocked by a restaurant but we were still able to get a look at the visiting whales every day. And the restaurant, Tidal Raves, was terrific. We had our 57th anniversary dinner there. We both had something we’d never had before and it was delicious. We ate the Chinese restaurant next door on our first night . The menu was limited but the portions we huge and delicious. The restaurant and bar is right across from the bedroom window. It gets a little noisy and Smokey but that wasn’t a problem for us. We would definitely go back again. ##### Bill C. Not only was this totally true the home also had two sets of binoculars. I watched whales every morning, afternoon and evening unless we made other plans. The location allowed us to walk to town and view whales and seals from the sea wall and sun set walks to north point. We didn't use upstairs but the rest of the house was well equipped and decorated all seaside Gramma-core. I want to stay here every year for the rest of my life!!!! ##### Rae H. The Zodiac boats would come out of the harbor and guide you right to the whale spouting. There is a telescope there and we could watch the whales and see the sea-loins sitting on the bouys in the inlet. View and location were the highlights for us. The unit is very spacious. It is a little tired and needs some PM and a little TLC. The king bed is ready for an update. We feel you could not get a better view anywhere like we had considering we were not directly on the ocean front. The unit had everything we needed for our week in Oregon. Walt was available and immediately attended to our needs when we asked for something. We had a great time here and if you have a large family that would be a great place for you to stay. It does only have one bathroom but you can work out the logistics when needed. We didn't lack for anything during our stay. Usually there are things we think "it would be nice if there was...."That thought never came up once in the week. The sofa and loveseat were cushy, bed downstairs perfect (we didn't use the upstairs bedrooms), bathroom was well lit with a ten bulb light bar!! There were two recliners which was unusual and greatly appreciated. They had binoculars available to use to search the ocean for whales. There was a bbq and Blackstone grill conveniently right outside the door with a bench and chairs so you could eat outside if desired. We also appreciated having a carport for the car. There are windows across the whole front of the unit and with all the mini blinds open the view was beautiful and the space was really bright. A new washer and dryer which we did not use is available. The place is filled with entertainment options such as games, puzzles, dvds.
