Brecon Beacons Country Home, sleeps 15+ family/pet friendly, perfect for walking

The Old Vicarage is a beautiful country home with a huge rambling garden, nestled in the Brecon Beacons on the sides of the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Successfully rented for 20 years to many large groups, families, walking groups, reunions and birthday parties.

Stunning views, walks and hikes all year round, birdwatching, cosy fireplaces, firepit, AGA. Perfect for large groups & families. Kids love the treehouse, trampoline, wendy house and exploring the garden's woodland.

The house is perfect for large groups of friends and families looking for a scenic, relaxed get-away, a walking holiday, or celebratory get-together and comfortably sleeps as many as 16 people. The house has its quirks and oozes rustic charm and character. Family-friendly with toys, board games for kids to get their hands on and DVD and Smart TV capabilities. Kids adore the tree house, wendy house and trampoline (supervision required). Paradise for pets; good WiFi.

N.B: Guests must bring their own towels.

(A little outdated now, as we have a new kitchen and some new beds since!)

Ground floor:
Kitchen - Fully equipped, spacious, with cosy AGA for warmth/cooking, and Britannia gas range.
Dining room - perfect for large group meals, opens out with French windows onto the terrace and the front lawn of the garden.
TV Room - (the 'snug') with fireplace, sofa, large TV with Netflix/iPlayer access etc, a large selection of DVDs and toys.
The red room (sitting room) - relax with a drink in the evening around the large fireplace on the comfortable sofas, maybe play chess?
Downstairs Bathroom with powerful shower.
Back Kitchen - connected to kitchen for washing up/laundry/tumble dryer/muddy boots/dogs with backdoor leading outside.
Extra storage room - storage for extra freezer/fridge space and washing machine.

Upstairs:
1. Master Bedroom (Super king bed), with ensuite bathroom
2. Twin Room
3. Double Bedroom with super king bed/day bed/single bed (particularly useful for child to share room with parents) & fireplace
4. Twin Room with basin
5. Main Bathroom with shower/bath
6. Double Room with fireplace, with annex connected bedroom with two single beds (perfect for parents and young children)

Loft: Double Room (with extra single bed)
Single Room
Twin beds in landing, great for kids

Three acres of unique, gorgeous, rambling garden to explore and relax in - one of the best features of the house: three different tiers of lawn, as the house is located at the foot of the Sugar Loaf.

Main front lawn with terrace, deck chairs, outside dining table, chairs and benches, firepit, gas BBQ, table tennis table, wendy-house, swing from very old beautiful oak tree.

Lower Lawn with trampoline (kids should be supervised), leading down into woodland area - great for kids to explore and make dens, collect mistletoe and holly at Christmas!

Follow the winding path up to the Upper Lawn - smaller with more privacy, great area for peace and quiet, gorgeous views.

Treehouse (nestled under huge old yew tree - you won't be able to see it until you go looking for it!) - rope ladders leading up to its balcony (not suitable for young children unsupervised), and walkway.

A fantastic weekend in beautiful Wales
We had a great stay at the house! The garden was great for our BBQ, and Nick was helpful with everything we needed. The home is spacious, and the rooms are quirky, with a great vibe with artwork and books. The location was easy to get to, and it was easy for us to get out for a day at the mountain biking park. The dining area was perfect for our meal and fit us all comfortably. And we spent the evening out just relaxing and chatting in the garden with the beautiful views of the hills. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Amazing charming house with beautiful garden
Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely home with lots to do and great garden space. Some kitchen equipment could have been cleaned a bit better. Nick rushed to get the property ready for us as it was a bit of a last minute booking so very grateful.

Surprise 40th Celebrations
The Old Vicarage is in a tranquil, remote and beautiful location. It is the perfect property for family gatherings or surprise birthday celebrations. The communication with the property owner was seamless and the property itself full of charm and character. Highly recommend a visit with easy access to Sugar Load and Abergavenny. We intend to return one day soon as we did not want to leave.
