You’ll be easy walking distance to all that Corny has to offer: the beach, restaurants, taverns & shops, but still have the peace & quiet that makes the South Shore such a restorative place to which to get away. This two-bedroom, one bath cabin marries the high-end conveniences a new construction build can offer with rustic Northwoods charm. Your host lives just a few miles away and is available whenever you need assistance and has a passion for ensuring guests get the most out of their visit to the South Shore. The South Shore is truly a place to get away from it all, but not so far from modern conveniences that getting food and gas feels like a chore. The guest book contains tips on all the incredible outdoor activities around here, as well as local arts, plus places to get groceries, dine out, grab a drink, etc. This is truly a year-round destination, whether you enjoy outdoor adventure, local cuisine, art, or simply the company of friends & family in one of the most beautiful locations in the northern U.S. The home is just a few minutes' walk from the center of Cornucopia, which has a delightful general store/market, awesome coffee shop, bar/restaurant, and marina. Bayfield is about 25 minutes away, as is Washburn (where you’ll find the largest grocery store in the area). Ashland is about 35 minutes away, with a natural foods co-op, Wal-Mart, and a wider range of shops). Superior & Duluth are an hour and a bit away. You'll be easy walking distance to the lake/beach, the shops & restaurants/bars, gas station, and coffee shop that are in Cornucopia. The cabin's driveway easily accommodates two vehicles. You’ll find a gourmand's dream kitchen with all stainless appliances (gas oven/stove, dishwasher, and the fanciest fridge ever), open-plan dining & living room, two bedrooms with queen beds, and a full bath (including a bathtub - a rarity for vacation rentals in the area). Oh, did we also mention a full-size clothes washer & dryer? We suspect you won’t want to leave. Every aspect of this cabin has been thoughtfully designed & decorated, down to the gorgeous bathroom & kitchen countertops and backsplashes. The living room features a leather sofa that converts to a queen bed, as well as equally-comfy leather love seat & oversized chair. And for family movie nights, the living room has a wall-mounted smart tv and soundbar. The dining table seats six comfortably. The exterior features a wrap-around deck, gas grill, and even a fire pit to enjoy on crisp & cool evenings. Escaping to the South Shore doesn’t mean leaving all the mod cons behind! The cabin features high-speed wifi, central heat AND air conditioning, smart tvs in the living & main bedroom, and even built-in USB charging outlets. The nearest airport is about an hour and 15 minutes away, in Duluth. This home is not on a "wooded" lot, but does have a small outdoor area for sitting around a campfire. The town is only one short road so there is not much to do so plan you activities. It was great to have such a nice cabin to spend our time in. The host has put a lot of thought into making sure her guests have a wonderful stay. Everything was perfect, clean and pretty. Feels very private even though you can walk to the shop and restaurant. The only difference I see in pictures is the add of a lovely patio set perfect to enjoy meals outside in summer. The location is perfect: Right next to downtown Cornucopia (so you can find basic items easily), and just minutes from some of the coolest trails in the area. We stayed with two of us and our two pups. The pups adored the cabin and settled right in. The cabin is really adorable and cozy, very clean and updated, and has everything you need (including a well-equipped kitchen). It was easy to communicate with Erin. We hiked two nearby trails, the Lakeshore Trail and Lost Creek Falls, both of which we highly recommend. Our only regret was that we weren't able to stay for longer. ##### lindsey d. My overall experience from booking to staying was great! The cabin was better than I anticipated. It was super clean and it’s very well decorated. It’s not a “cheap” place to stay by any means. It feels much more luxurious. Erin’s communication and accommodations were fantastic. One of the biggest things I needed in a place was AC and the AC there works fantastically. My husband and our friends all greatly complimented the place and how nice it was. Everyone enjoyed their stay. The only “complaint” from all of us are the beds. It feels everywhere else in the house was greatly thought of and picked out with great care, however, the beds are VERY hard and springy, so if you don’t like hard beds, I suggest bringing a pillow top topper to sleep on to make it more comfortable. This did not greatly affect the overall way we felt about the place and our stay, though. Don’t let the hard beds deter you from this fabulous place! You won’t regret your stay! An absolutely charming, welcoming, spotless and dog friendly (which was extremely high on our list of priorities) cabin. So relaxing and beautiful! Very very clean, organized and well-stocked. The host, Erin has provided and thought of everything you would want or need in a vacation dwelling! And she’s totally accessible during your stay and is a extremely knowledgeable about the entire surrounding community! It was a fantastic experience! ##### Deborah C. My husband and I live in Chicago, and this was a perfect Thanksgiving holiday week getaway for us! We are like most people with busy day to day lives, and we wanted to be in a peaceful/quiet environment This cabin was just what we needed, and Erin (our host) could not have been more thoughtful in every detail of the cabin as well as accommodating to any need we might have before/after arrival. She lives local, which was a great comfort! There is a lot of outdoor activity to do in the area. At this time of the year though, it was pretty cold for several of the days of our stay,(which we were expecting), but we were very happy to be in the cabin itself relaxing, cooking and playing board games. There is an option that Erin offers to get several fresh local products from farmer's like eggs and vegetables, (and we did) but we also went to one of the nearest supermarkets about a 1/2 hour drive away. One of our favorite things about renting this cabin was being able to have our pooch with us. As I said, Erin has thought of everything, including what your pet may need for their stay too! This house is just as pictured. It is lovely. The kitchen was our favorite since we cook most of the time. Personal touches were awesome like a portable gate to close off the deck for our little dog; bowls for his food and water. Personal touches for us were coffee and tea; shower soaps; a guide book. Go to Quarry Beach at Port Wing. It was a lovely clean beach and Bob the dog could run. We loved our stay and plan to return next year so check with our schedule before you book haha. We want it all to ourselves. Be sure to visit Halverson's Fishery for smoked fish for your suppers. It's the best. Thanks for sharing your home. ##### Julie C.
