Don't do it!

We accidentally left a portable fan (expensive one) there and when we got home later that night, we called to have them keep it for us so our daughter could pick it up. They said they didn't have it and that we didn't leave it there. We knew exactly where we left it in the room and they still said we didn't leave it there. Hopefully the maid that cleaned the room enjoys her new fan. Won't be staying there anymore for sure. Wasn't the cleanest either.
