The house had everything we needed and more. All the amenities that you’d want. We cooked and loved eating overlooking the lake, and had all we needed to prepare our meals. The hot tub and outdoor fire pit were enjoyed as well. Fun to wake up and spot the different animals outside, from a bald Eagle, to squirrels and even a few cows. Jul 17, 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Wonderful Getaway "The View" was the perfect spot for a mother and daughter getaway. The house was clean and inviting, and the kitchen was stocked with needed things for home-cooked meals. The lake was relaxing and beautiful—there is something about visiting a lake during the week that makes you feel like you are the only people there. The covered back porch was a great area to enjoy coffee, read a book, and birdwatch. The hot tub was wonderful and a good size for 2 people. The host was very gracious when we had car trouble and didn't start our trip to NC from PA until about 6:30pm. We did not attempt to use the dock next door because of the house book left on the coffee table; however, she let us know we could use it later on in our stay. Definitely ask about lake entry if you are unsure. Great location where you feel secluded but close to grocery stores, lots of Dollar Generals, and touristy things to do. We highly recommend checking out Emerald Hollow Mine and the Science Center in Hickory. We had lots of things on our itinerary; however, we found ourselves at the lake more often than not and were happy to relax. Fire pit, propane grill, and huge picture window in the kitchen were very much appreciated.
