It’s comfortable and cute with enough space for a family. The location is extremely convenient for those attending Fort Jackson graduations and everything is easy to find. The very first step going upstairs to the house is broken three out of the 12 people all tripped. It should be repaired rather quickly before someone actually does get hurt. The cleaning services are not doing a very good job when you unfold the futons there is food crumbs what have you in the fold of the futon. When wiping down the house before we left I noticed the floors were unbelievably dirty on the rag I was using. But like I said no complaints I would stay there again and again the beds were unbelievably comfortable, The linens were freshly clean and access to the house was remarkably easy. The bathroom downstairs had a toilet that you had to physically fill tank with water in order to flush. The main upstairs bathroom shower had broken knobs and the door stuck and would take 2 people to open if closed all the way. There were dead bug carcasses in every room. Sheets had stains on them. We couldn't find a dust pan until the last day, it was shoved under one of the downstairs beds. The couch in the upstairs living room smelled so bad we avoided sitting on it, as well as the 2 futons in the main room downstairs. It is very dangerous walking from driveway into house as there is no lighting, until you turn on inside, so you trip over rocks until you get to stairs. Like many, who use Vrbo, I do a lot of research before booking, and rely on the reviews of many to make a decision. The description of thes home is not incorrect, but the photos make it look much better than it is and the 10/10 reviews are very generous. We should all be able to expect a clean property with clean linens and the basics of a working home. This house had none of the extras and was missing some of the basics. We weren't planning on cooking a gourmet meal but eggs and bacon seem pretty basic. For a house that sleeps 13 people, there was only enough of some dishes to accommodate 5 or 6 people So we were hand washing dishes during meal time. The Pots and pans were abysmal with almost all with chipped and peeling Teflon on the bottom. It is so inexpensive to buy a set of pots and pans, that I can't conceive of a reason why an owner or management company would allow this. The toilets "kind of flush" with some having to be manually refilled and at least one shower with the weakest stream of water, almost making showering impossible. The master shower had no shower liner and only half of the shower hanger keeping the curtain in place. These things are such easy fixes that I don't know why they let them go by the wayside. Mar 27, 2023 Liked: Check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy Disliked: Cleanliness #### Motel room vibe First off, nothing about the listing description of the property is inaccurate, but I do believe the reviews are way too generous for the condition of this home. We rely heavily on reviews to decide on our vacation properties. If I'd have known what I know now I would never have picked this house. Hoping the next traveller can make a better-informed decision. I'll start with the cons: \*\*the MB bed frame squeaks quite a lot. I couldn't roll over without waking my husband. The mattress also slants to the middle. \*\*the bedding and towels are all very low quality. The sheets are thin and worn. \*\*the pillows on all beds are very cheap, thin, VERY uncomfortable \*\*the main sofa in the living room is dirty and slants to the middle \*\*the floors are very dirty \*\*the kitchen garbage disposal doesn't work, which we didn't find out until we'd deposited food in it \*\*all of the curtains in all rooms are too small for the windows so don't provide adequate privacy \*\*most of the windows upstairs and downstairs were unlocked when we arrived (safety hazard) \*\*the furnishings and decor are motel-quality Pros: \*\*the immediate neighborhood feels safe and friendly (had neighbor approach us and offer assistance with anything we may need) \*\*proximity to Ft. Jackson is great \*\*responsiveness from mgmt was very good \*\*plenty of room for large groups to spread out We wouldn't rent again but could work for a family that has a big group and doesn't mind the details above. ##### Teri S.
