I usually don't stay hostel type of the places due to the shared bathroom, privacy and security concerns. But Star Anise was one of my best hotel experiences traveling in Sri Lanka. Very friendly and super kind staff, comfortable bed, kept clean in the bathroom and common areas which made my stay more comfortable. I took a tuktuk from airpirt to this hostel for 1600 rupees. there is an ATM at bottom of the road. There is a roller blind to give you complere privacy in your capsule. Clean towel was provided WIFI is good. Hot water Roof terrace for smokers. Only slightly negative thing is that the USB outlet in the capsule barely charged my phone. I had to use regular charger.
