A beautiful hotel! The decor is outstanding and the staff and service excellent too A great room with a really comfortable bed, impeccable cleanliness with a fantastic shower - all very modern and classy with extra little touches like the little lights on each stair up to the bedroom A wonderful breakfast included with the price, which was a great way to start my day at work locally

Stayed at GreyFriars for our Anniversary as it was conveniently located to the restaurant we were visiting. We couldn’t fault the hotel or the service we received. Upon checking in the lovely lady in reception told us that we had been upgraded to a junior suite. The room was beautifully furnished and elegant with plenty of space. Little extras, such as Nespresso machine and complementary coffee pods as well as mini fridge with drinks was a pleasant addition. The only slight improvement would be better lighting due to the windows being small for the size of the room. This would have made getting ready easier. Breakfast was faultless and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly and polite which made our stay all the better. We will definitely be back.

It was an excellent start to our UK vacation, quiet room, nice, comfortable dining room/pub. As we were visiting a local resident, I can’t speak to transportation or shopping.

Room was supposed to have king size bed but came with double. Air conditioning did not work and as we were on the top floor it was far too hot to sleep.

Our first stay at this hotel, and we weren’t disappointed, friendly welcome by reception team, food and service is excellent on terrace bar and in restaurant, had a complimentary upgrade on our room with free minibar , exceptionally clean room and hotel.

This is a really old hotel, fully upgraded and worthy of it's 4 stars. Lush carpets, modern furniture, plenty of space and storahe. We were upgraded to a deluxe room, how posh is that, everything is so comfy, staff will do anything for you, within reason. It is very handy for the local shops and theatre. I will return as this is luxury.

This was our second stay at Greyfriars and it didn't disappoint us! Such a lovely atmosphere when you walk in. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are amazing, including a fairly decent sized fridge, very comfy bed and amazing bathroom. We felt like we were staying in a country house, with all the convenience of walking out into a city centre. Easy access to the park for a walk before breakfast. Breakfast has so many options, and you are never rushed. Hard to not keep ordering the pancakes each day as they are so good. Our daughter came to join us for breakfast with her 1 year old on a couple of the days and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Also I would like to mention the housekeeping staff who refreshed our room each day. All in all a perfect stay, so we will definitely be back. Thank you.

An excellent hotel. Just a couple of niggles - our bathroom did not have a soft closing toilet seat, there were no biscuits on tea/coffee tray and would have been nice to have some body lotion and hand cream in room

I don’t usually leave reviews but after having our lives put on hold for a year after my diagnosis and this was the first time we had gone away without a cloud over our heads I thought I would Firstly I would like to say lovely hotel, it’s the type of hotels me and my husband like as full of character We arrived early and the receptionist was friendly and we got told they upgraded our room which was really nice so we left our luggage, and we popped in town done a few bits When we got back to the hotel we went to our room which was gorgeous our plan was to have room service and enjoy the room which is what we did after a couple of drinks in the bar area which was lovely Now the down side the shower stank of drains, the pillows on the bed are awful and we got food poisoning from the oysters

The greeting staff were very informative and pleasant. They were able to answer any questions we had for our stay. Unfortunately this didn’t carry through to the bar staff who ignored us when we were waiting to be served and then finally when we were, we seemed to be an inconvenience to them, we left and took our evening customs elsewhere and only used the room to stay in. The room was average; we found dead insects in the curtains. The bathroom improved our stay and was very comfortable. Overall, I’d like to see an improvement in the bar staff and the cleanliness of the rooms improved.

We were given an upgrade to a suite where the furniture and soft furnishings were excellent and there was space in lounge area to hold a meeting and dining table was adequate for meals to be eaten in the room. The bathroom was luxurious with everything one could imagine. The bedroom of good size and comfortable Staff were courteous and helpful in the reception and bar inparticular. I look forward to staying at this hotel again.

Staying with our dog.
We stayed in the courtyard suite with our labrador dog. Excellent spacious, clean room. Shame well behaved dogs not allowed in the cloisters restaurant at breakfast time. Bathroom floor VERY dangerous when wet. Overall would definitely stay again.
