"This is our 4th time here, the rooms were OK, dust on the head board and dresser in the 2nd floor bedroom. Kitchen floor was sticky in spots (not sure if it was from us or not) but when cleaned up with a paper towel, the towel was really dirty. Bathrooms were ok. Washer and dryer were very dirty, washer rubbber ring had black spots on it, and dryer had so much lint all over it, we were suprised that it didn't catch on fire. "We had an excellent stay at the CKL. Wonderful hosts, who quickly responded to any questions we had. Extremely clean property in cabin and all out buildings. Cabin had all the amenities you could need including strong wifi, which the kids were happy for. Great nights spent by the fire pit and throughout the property. Great locations with a short drive to restaurants and Cooks Forrest attractions. "

"Great for an overnight. Comfortable bed. The smell of stale cigarettes does hit you when you walk in the room but dissipates. The room, linens, carpet and walls are all very clean. The smell must be locked in the walls or something. There was definitely not enough seating at breakfast for a Sunday morning. Breakfast was OK, no hot foods, mostly bread, muffins, waffles. They did have hard boiled eggs for protein and fresh apples/oranges."

"Tom and Zabrina were the greatest hosts that we could hope for. They came over and made sure there was nothing that we needed for our stay. They even stayed and chatted about the area for awhile. The cabin was set up better than some people would even think of needing for a few days stay. If I could give it 10 stars I would! Their dog Starla was so adorable and friendly. We are already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended! Words cannot describe how great this cabin was! Thank you so much to Tom,Zabrina and Starla!"

"Brittany the host was fantastic. She was pretty quick at her responses. She did everything she could to make us happy including offer to refund part of our stay. The listing says the mill runs weekdays. Thats only partially acurate. It ran to or past midnight most nights including saturday. The mill runs when the mill wants to. Its extremely loud. If you play music its not too bad. However this is a dog friendly place and our dogs were very uneasy of the noises and sometimes scared. The host refunded us for the mill going all day saturday. She offered us to do activities at another property. However my boyfriend was in a walking boot and we were unable to do most activities. It was relaxing but not peaceful. The hot tub thermometer is not acurate. It needed to be stirred up and have an evening with the lid off to cool down. We were able to use it once while there. Some of the furniture shown in images was broken so i would bring some chairs. There are 2 functional chairs. Not 6. Overall it was a really nice cabin. Just not as peaceful as we had hoped. The host did make it right but we wouldnt come back to this specific property."

Cook Forest Luxury Treehouse

"The Treehouse was excellent and the accommodations were clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and seemed very cozy. There were clear instructions for the stove top that made it simple to use. Communications with the host were very good and she responded very quickly to the couple of minor issues we encountered. We had an outstanding time and enjoyed ourselves however there are a couple of issues I want to include:1. Although the listing said that firewood was provided, we were surprised to find out that it was at an additional cost. The fire pit itself has been well loved for a while and has some rust holes in it.2. The staircase/ladder to the sleeping area was very steep. If you have mobility issues it may be difficult to get to the bed. You cannot walk down the stairs, you have to turn around and climb down the ladder.3. Although the cabin is very clean we found that it had a lot of scented air fresheners present. The fragrance was a problem for us since we routinely avoid anything that is not unscented."
