Only for relaxing
The place is a bit overpriced for its functionality. One must make appointments for any gym time, skating time, yoga etc. The food was decent. I would not eat here if I were not staying here. The service was slow. I had to walk up from the pool area several times for drinks. It’s very far from anything touristic to do. So if you want to relax by the waves and have a quiet week then I recommend it.

This hotel is situated on a beautiful beach cove and is perfect for surfing (5-20 ft. waves). I am not a strong surfer or swimmer, but had a lot of fun riding the wakes from the waves to the shore. The beach is about 250 yards, so not huge, but is a short walk to other beaches. Front desk staff was totally useless, but restaurant staff was great. Hotel did not provide any information about activities, cleaning, what is nearby; so do your research. Breakfast was good. Other restaurant food, nothing to write home about. Long story short, good accommodations on a beautiful beach, but given lack of help from staff, not sure I would stay there again given other nearby options.

Everything was great overall. Two things that need change is 1. Check in: tall skinny lady is not very friendly at check in has a lack of communication seems she’s bothered when asked questions which I don’t understand why if that is her job. 2. Waiters were nice very respectful and all but would take a long time to come check to see if anything else was needed I would to keep looking for my waiter when I needed any condiments or a refill.

Not for a family trip
This hotel is definitely overrated and I don’t recommend it. If you have a couple get away or family time, this is not the property for your trip, is ideal for people traveling for surfing. Unfortunately our AC did not work, tried to call front desk and our phone was not working(never worked while our entire stay) went to front desk and was closed, went to restaurant and their staff was very kind and try to help us in the best of their ability, called maintenance personnel to get some help, by now was late at night and all I wanted to do was rest, after couple hours AC was fixed but then was not cooling and turning off every 30min. The staff is friendly, restaurant is very good, however you can find different properties in the area that would be half price.

The property is poorly maintained. The chairs by the pool are in desperate need of repairs and some need to be replaced. There are many slippery areas; an accident waiting to happen. The access to the beach wooden path is in terrible shape. This place is way overrated.

Pure delight - stunning hotel
Amazing hotel and service. Loved the surf lessons, delightful breakfasts and design throughout. Fall asleep to the sound of the Pacific waves. Staff are super friendly, available by Whatsapp and have top recommendations, including local pupusa shacks.

Solo Surfer
Great location, in front of one good wave spot (Zonte). Rooms are modern and functional, although missing some space for hanging clothes. Bit disappointed with their additional services. For example, the equipment in the academy is quite limited and often old/rusty. Also, if you are not in an all-inclusive surf package, extras are very expensive (e.g., USD 60 for a half-day surf guiding in a group or USD 40 for a ~25-min return taxi trip). Nevertheless, the service is great across reception, restaurant, pool, and cleaning staff; only surf guides could be friendlier (I guess they are once you pay for surf guiding?). Food is very good but on the expensive side for El Salvador (basically US prices). In short, happy with my stay there, not the best price/quality ratio, better suited for couples or small groups.

Hotel is nice, the pool and are great. We had an issue with our room, the ac wasn’t working. We checked in a later in the day and weren’t in the room until late at night, when we got back and realized the room wasn’t cold (we had two rooms reserved next to each other and could significantly tell the difference) we called the front desk at this point it was almost midnight. The front desk said they would see if they could send someone to fix it. At 1am they called back and said the only option was for us to move to another room (at 1am), never at one point int that conversation did they mention it would only be us moving and not our stuff so there was poor communication with the night stuff as I noted it was 1am and I wasn’t going to pack all my stuff up and move in the middle of the night especially with my family being in the room next door. At checkout I brought this up with the staff and they were so rude and quick to say they offered me a room and that no discount would be given. I would have given this place a 5 out of 5 but the staff and ac situation really ruined the trip giving the hotel a 3 out of 5.

Beautiful hotel with amazing aesthetic, attentive staff and great amenities. The food at Covana was delicious and the bed was super comfortable. Our only gripe was the toiletries they provided; at that price point we expected something a bit better quality. Overall, we loved our stay and would come back again.

Upper management Natalia made our stay uncomfortable, there was a moment she even told my sister she would give her money back if she wanted to leave; we had 4 rooms but I'm guessing she didn't know or she didn't care loosing the money in all those rooms, other than that is a nice place to stay, the rest of the employees were amazing they go above and beyond to help you, food is OK.
