The hot pot restaurant was amazing with delicious fresh veggies and was a lovely way to end the day after hiking in the misty forest. The view of sunset from the hot pot restaurant was absolutely stunning! My only reservation would be for elderly travelers as there are stairs and some steep pathways- they would need some assistance with luggage and walking. Breakfast was delicious! I’m so grateful we stayed here. Surrounded by a working coffee and tea farm and set amongst a trail system that one can walk to really check out the terrain. I had to take my case and bags with me to walk along all stairs ( no elevator), this would be hard for seniors and people with disabilities. It is equipped better than most of hotels that I had experienced, such as heated toilet seat. There is 30-40 minute walking distance from bus stop, the owner drives a Mercedes to pickup guests. Room is very clean, bed is large and comfortable. Breakfast is free. Not for sunrise in hotel One night. Nice mountain hotel. But nearly 1h drive to Alishan Township. Balcony is facing sunset and not sunrise. You have to drive a bit. This advantage may be the disadvantage the same time, because for these tourists who come to Alishan first time, transportation between the Alishan park entrance (the transportation hub) and the hotel is a little bit confusing. This hotel is half hour bus-driving from the entrance and you must pre-book the hotel shuttle to pick you up at the bus station. But overall my experience there was good and the lady boss was very nice and helpful.
