The place was historic, there for it was old ... not the amenities that you would have in a newer hotel. The rooms are old as they would be in a 1800 year old place , but not really maintained that well. The best part is the bar and restaurant that was fantastic... I would stay there just for that , and the town of Chester is quant and worth going to.

Great stay

The location and staff were wonderful. The convenience of having a wonderful restaurant and bar downstairs was great. It was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. I would highly recommend it.

This was our second stay at the Publick House- It is a unique historic building. The rooms are spacious, the staff are friendly and helpful, and it is very quiet at night. We enjoy strolling around Chester, and the location is convenient when in the area visiting family.

Unfortunately the room we stayed in was very sparsely furnished with no closet, a torn comforter and very thin dirty bathroom towels. The staff did provide clean towels when asked but did not remove the dirty ones nor clean the room any of the 3 days we stayed there. On top of that, the half and half cups left at the coffee maker were spoiled. On the positive side, the location of the hotel is excellent, the room was large with a bedroom & living room and the bed and couch were comfortable.

Amazing historic room. Spacious and comfortable. Super friendly folks. The restaurant downstairs was awesome. A really great stay for my wife and me.
