With original beams running throughout the cottage and exposed stone walls, Pear Tree Cottage is bursting with charm, offering you a quintessential Cotswold stay. On the ground floor is a cosy living room with wood burning stove, decorative dining room with seating for six and a galley style kitchen which leads onto a well established garden, complete with outdoor seating. Accommodation This three bedroom holiday cottage in Bourton-on-the-Water is well suited for those looking for a traditional Cotswold Cottage experience with the luxury of a bustling village on your doorstep. The accommodation is laid out as follows: Ground Floor Living room Fireplace with wood burning stove, three-seater sofa, four armchairs, window seat, Smart TV with basic Sky entertainment package and DVD player, small selection of books and antique writing desk Dining room Original fireplace, dining table with seating for six and window seat Kitchen Galley style kitchen with double electric oven, four-ring gas hob, washing machine and tumble dryer, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle and cafetiere Shower room Walk-in shower, loo and basin First Floor Master bedroom (Sleeps 2) King size bed, built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, basin, mirror, chair, luggage rack and hairdryer Family bathroom Bath with overhead handheld shower attachment, loo and basin Bedroom 2 (Sleeps 2) Two single beds, built-in wardrobe and open plan shelving for storage, basin, mirror and hairdryer Iron and ironing board Second Floor A steep winding staircase leads to the second floor Bedroom 3 with ensuite cloakroom and dressing room (Sleeps 2) Accessed via an accompanying dressing room with built-in wardrobes, dressing table, armchair, hairdryer and full length mirror Two single beds and chest of drawers Ensuite cloakroom with loo and basin Outside Enclosed garden with well established flower beds, which contains an outdoor table, with a large parasol, seating for six and a charcoal BBQ The Finer Details... If travelling in more than one car, due to space limitations, guests may need to use one of the public car parks (Pay & Display) a short walk from the property 1 travel cot and 1 highchair are available on request (please bring your own linen for the travel cot, as this is not provided) Sorry, no pets Strong WiFi (Download speed 50Mbps) Mobile phone reception is variable, generally being better outside the property than inside Smart TV with basic Sky package and DVD player Enclosed garden Charcoal BBQ (guests are responsible for providing charcoal and cleaning BBQ after use) Gas central heating system Starter supply of wood provided for the wood burning stove and further log supplies can be purchased locally This is a very old property and has many character features, including low ceilings and doors, uneven floors, steep stairs to the first floor, steep winding stairs from the first to the second floor, an open sided landing space at the top of the staircase to the second floor, and some steps on the ground floor of the house, all of which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility, or carrying babies, both in terms of their general movement and their ability to quickly exit the house in the event of an emergency The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property Things to Note... The cottage is one block away from the water and all of the village bridges, shops and restaurants. Our family enjoyed a two week stay and felt like locals. The entire house is equipped with everything you need for a self catering vacation. It’s in a great location on a quiet street a short walk from the village square. The property manager, Joanne, was responsive to every request and a delight to work with. The only thing I would suggest is some attention to the toilets. We had a lot of difficulty getting them to flush thoroughly. Perhaps an increase in the water pressure or larger tanks would help. Regardless, this issue would not deter me from staying at Pear Tree Cottage again. ##### Donna D.
