This is an older hotel. Our first night the staff were great, met my dog at the desk! When we were checking out the next day, desk staff were rude! Accused me of “hiding” my dog! Add Ed more charges to the bill stating they just found out about the dog. Yet the staff the evening before were petting him and talking to him!

We like this hotel, but the employee who checked us in was less than friendly, and didn't go over any of the pool or breakfast info. The room was great, and the front desk person this morning was very helpful. One bad apple spoils the whole bunch. We'll have to think about staying here again.

The English Inn has been my "go to" place when I am in Charlottesville. it is clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff are pleasant and helpful. My one concern is the shower. Evidently, after showering and opening the doors, the water will go onto the floor instead of staying in the shower. One can see the water lines in the bathroom tiles that are close to the shower. I try to avoid this, but without success. The English Inn is a beautiful and comfortable place to stay and I hate to see the property be damaged in any way. Hopefully, this is an easy fix.

We had a really nice stay at the English Inn in Charlottesville! The hotel was comfortable and welcoming, and overall we really enjoyed our experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast. The people working in the breakfast room were absolutely great—very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. They made us feel comfortable every morning and added such a nice personal touch to our stay. The friendly service was definitely appreciated! The only disappointment was the pool. I was really looking forward to enjoying it with my son, but unfortunately, we weren’t able to use it because the pool was very dirty and did not appear to be properly cleaned. That was disappointing, especially when traveling with a child and looking forward to using the hotel amenities. Aside from the pool issue, we had a great experience and enjoyed our stay. I would definitely consider staying here again. I just hope management gives the pool more attention and makes sure it is properly cleaned and maintained for guests, because that would have made our stay even better!
