With D'Allesandros Pizza (a local pizza institution), Brown's Court Bakery (amazing breads & pastries) and the Ordinary (high end oyster & seafood restaurant) a couple of blocks, guests have many unique local food options to explore. Walk to Barsa for some Tapas or visit the Daily for some coffee or locally made Kombucha! This is the best neighborhood in Charleston if you are looking to be steps away from King Street and experience the area as a local in a transitional neighborhood among new residents of the city, students and longtime local families. The diversity and richness of history in the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood makes this part of town desirable to locals and visitors alike. Sweet Spacious Suite is perfect for folks who enjoy a diverse, vibrant and eclectic neighborhood where you can watch the reinvestment & revitalization in old historic properties going on in real time. Parts of the neighborhood might still look a bit rough but it is safe. This neighborhood was recently profiled by the WALL ST JOURNAL in April 2017 as "THE PLACE TO STAY IN CHARLESTON" and it's also where Jamie Lee Curtis stayed - and walked her dog every morning - while shooting the 2018 remake of the Halloween movie! We are close to the crosstown parkway which may impact light sleepers but our db readings show it isn't loud enough to be a disturbance. There is also construction in the street which is almost complete but may result in additional noise during the day or other issues beyond our control. Space was very clean and spacious. I particularly liked that each bedroom had it's own bathroom and balcony. There is also a lovely covered deck where I enjoyed having breakfast. The neighborhood is quite noisy, mainly due to the close proximity of the freeway. But I felt the positives far outweighed that negative. The noise didn't really bother us much, but I could see that being an issue for some. I loved that we were so close to all of the things we wanted to do. Most of the attractions we wanted to see were a 15 minute drive or less. And when we did go further away, the entrance to the freeway was 2 blocks away, so that was quite convenient as well. This property says the price per night and then just before checkout adds lots of extra fees. I don’t love that way of listing but it was Easter weekend and not much available.Very noisy as it is right next to highway and the ac in the main bedroom is super loud!Additionally a cat or dog used the driveway as a place to poop and I reached out to host to tell them & they said they have never had that problem vs remedying it. Truly a spacious place, not far from King and easy to find. Must be doing something right if your guests have everything they need for their stay! We could hear the neighbors briefly when they returned home late in the evening/ early morning, but the sound machine was a quick fix. There was some construction nearby that started about 7:30 am but tolerable with sound machine. The beds were so comfortable and after exploring all Charleston has to offer, we found it easy to sleep. Perfect for us. Can’t wait to book another visit. ##### Tammy M. Not what we experienced at all. The neighborhood is not “transitional.” It is very rundown and lots of disturbing construction. The porches are old and dirty, even the back entrance porch. Nothing inviting like the pictures show. The furniture is not what is pictured. It is also old and dirty. The noise is not just disturbing for light sleepers. We struggled every night with street and emergency vehicle noise. We actually left a day early because we needed a good nights sleep for our long drive home. We also had been blocked in the driveway for two mornings, one until almost noon. The two stars are for the cleanliness. The kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms were very clean. Overall we feel like we were mislead by the pictures and the property description. 10/10 reviews must come from people responding to their email offering a Starbucks gift card. ##### Kathy G. This place is exactly as advertised ... roomy downstairs with two bedrooms and two baths upstairs in a great neighborhood! We had everything we needed to explore Charleston and return to comfortable surroundings. Yes, there is some highway noise but not enough to keep us awake. The plus side is that it is easy to get on the highway and easy to get back from visiting plantations, Mt. Pleasant, etc. And we especially loved the neighborhood. Bistronomy at Nico's was so good that we ate there twice. The grocery store across the street from it covered all our needs. And Island Provisions was great for breakfast.
