Summary: Discover a cozy retreat in the heart of Charleston. This historic cottage offers all the character you love paired with thoughtful updates so your stay feels comfortable, warm, and truly memorable. Perfect for couples, small families, or solo travelers who want easy access to downtown without sacrificing charm. The Space: Private patio and secure off street parking. The first floor has an open layout with a living and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. The bathroom is located off the kitchen and features a stacked washer dryer, tub shower and pedestal sink. There are heart pine hardwood floors throughout the first floor with many original features. Bedroom #1: Queen Bed Living Room space with a futon Queen Air Mattress + Additional Bedding (Available upon request) Potential for Noise: Due to the home’s historic character and close proximity to all the city has to offer, some road and city noise may be heard. Tout le reste était très bien , très propre , au calme , avec de l’espace et une place de parking pour la voiture. Pour entrer et sortir du driveway cela est un peu compliqué car la visibilité est mauvaise et il y a beaucoup de voitures , il faudrait aussi éclairer l’allée la nuit . ##### Cécile D. My only recommendation would be to add a deadbolt lock to the kitchen door that opens to the outside. Would just feel a little more secure - or a latch on the inside maybe.Bathroom is downstairs, so you have to navigate stairs in the middle of the night, if you’re one of those people and that’s a concern for you.Parking was great - right behind the cottage. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Communication with owner was great. The neighborhood is quiet and the apartment itself is cozy while offering plenty of space for two people to lounge in comfortably. As other reviews noted, the loft area does get warmer than the rest of the house, but the box fan provided made the nights comfortable for sleeping. ##### Lisa M. But we were too busy to spend time watching anything. The kitchen was adequately supplied, with the one exception that there were no garbage bags. Overall it is a lovely property, typical of Charleston which has aged well. I would recommend this property to a couple who do not intend to hang out at the house but use it as a base to explore all the area has to offer. ##### Bill S. It was a quiet, walkable neighborhood, so having a car was not necessary if you wanted to see the local shops and restaurants. The only complaint was that the bedroom on the upstairs floor got quite warm during the day, and the AC couldn't keep up. The ground floor was very cool and the air well circulated, but the upstairs gets several degrees warmer during the summer and can feel stuffy in the summer humidity and heat. ##### Susan G. Fuel Cantina and Holey City Bagels were conveniently close-by. Food was great everywhere we visited. Downtown Charleston including all attractions were within walking distance for us (could be a bit long for others who aren’t walkers)…it was a beautiful, pleasant walk to and from. Charleston City Market, The Lost History of Black Charleston walking tour led by historian and educator Damon Fordham, and Folly Beach were among my favorite experiences. My friend enjoyed the wine complimentary of the Vrbo, which was a nice way to cap off our wonderful stay in Charleston. We both thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning. Oh and the mattress was super comfortable. We slept well. ##### Jordanos T.
