We also found that having a rental car made a big difference. It gave us the flexibility to easily access the main street in El Calafate and explore the surrounding areas without any hassle. Conveniently located a few minutes walk to the bus station. Was a great choice for me as I was only stopping in El Calafate for Perito Moreno Glacier. It is a bit of a walk to the main part of town, about 20 minutes, which I didn’t mind as I like to get out and walk and the weather was nice enough to do so. If you’re staying longer in El Calafate and don’t have a car or the weather isn’t great you might want to stay closer to the main town center. But otherwise it was a great place to spend two nights. Room was simple but had a mini fridge and the bathroom had a wonderful shower with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Breakfast was simple but also good; the lady who made the eggs each morning cooked them perfectly! I think a tea kettle in the room for tea/coffee and maybe a small fan to circulate air would be nice. Overall a solid property!
