Some days the staff are friendly, and some days they are lazy and unhelpful. Cleanliness is a serious issue at the cafeteria as rats and cockroaches were seen. In my room, the lights, TV and air-conditioning worked well. But in other rooms of my friends, the drain was clogged up and required "plunging". The hotel has a strange policy that outside food cannot be consumed in its premises. Why cannot I bring a beer purchased elsewhere to drink in my room, just because you sell it in your cafeteria? They even provide a real comforter instead of just a thin sheet for a blanket, which makes sleeping even more cozy, esp. when you have the AC on. Our room was on the 6th floor so it was helpful that they had a lift / elevator. There’s a TV in the room with lots of channels, which is great when you just want to relax in your room for a day. They have a restaurant downstairs that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a pretty good menu selection, all for a reasonable price. There’s a convenience store downstairs as a well as a café. Actually, along the street where this pension house is located, there are several eateries, cafés, a 7-11 convenience store, laundry shop, barber shop / salon, all within walking distance, which is absolutely convenient. The South Bus terminal is a 5-10min taxi ride way and the v-hire terminal is also nearby. A big plus is that all the staff here are super friendly so I ended up chatting quite a bit with the receptionist, the kitchen staff and the guard.
