Inside the exclusive gated community overlooking the prestigious Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club, the second-floor unit is a serene escape nestled at the base of coastal foothills. During polo season (May-October), thrilling polo matches take place within view, though the subtle beauty of coastal sunsets can be enjoyed all year long. A dramatic black granite fireplace and plenty of natural light define the open, modern living space. The main terrace, off the living room, promises views of the polo fields and the complex's pool below. Open wide the sliders to create a true indoor-outdoor experience and dine alfresco with seating for six and a propane grill. For more formal affairs, dine beautifully in a light-drenched alcove where a unique bubble glass fixture casts an ambient glow over the round dining table, making each meal sparkle. The kitchen, accented by sleek black countertops, has a wide array of small appliances, including a Keurig coffee maker and baking essentials for whipping up a quick breakfast or gourmet holiday supper. The bar stools at the pass-through window to the kitchen allow guests to keep an eye on the chef or a provide a perfect place to perch for a quick coffee before heading out for the day! The primary suite, with foothill views, is outfitted with a queen-size bed and ample storage behind mirrored closet doors. In the attached bath, linger in the luxury of the walk-in shower. The second suite with a private terrace offers the best views and a perfect perch to watch matches when in season. The room is thoughtfully designed with the versatility of a twin-trundle day bed and a built-in desk providing the student or professional with a place for work or study. With another walk-in shower, the attached bath also opens to the hall, where the laundry is tucked in the closet for convenience. As is typical with many Santa Barbara homes, this property does not have AC. Open windows and the use of fans allow ocean breezes in to keep the house cool during hot summer months. The polo grounds are located between two charming coastal towns. Nearby Carpinteria is an eclectic surf town and home to what has become known as "The World's Safest Beach", with its wide sandy stretches and friendly surf. The farmer's market on the main street through town, Linden Avenue, is a feast for the eye and appetite.
