"Cute and well located inn, with very friendly service. Excellent restaurant (Xica da Silva) and convenience store just down the street. You are quick taxi ride to all beaches so there is no need to rent a buggy. The mattress and pillows were covered in rubber protective casings which was odd. There is no WiFi or cell signal at this pousada or on the island, so be ware of being stuck without internet. All in all, this is a nice bed and breakfast but is too pricey for what you get."

"Everything was great. From the hosts Douglas and his mother were amazing. Perfect location. Everything is walkable or 10 minutes by buggy. The included breakfast was prepared fresh to order by the chef. We were extremely happy with our experience here. The people are so friendly and welcoming. Plus the charm of this place being so small was great. The pictures shown on here don't do it justice. It's a fairly new property but don't hesitate to book here! "

The only problem was that the resort was doing noisy renovations on the bungalow right next door however when we reported the issue, the staff responded quickly to stop the renovations and noise. "My husband and l are from the USA and stayed for one week in February 2026 in a room with a king size bed and ocean views. I was very nervous about going to a remote island with no chain hotels or known car rental agencies. The island businesses are completely run by locals using whatsapp. Mar em Mim had only 12 reviews at the time l made the reservation, so it was kinda risky, but l it had everything l wanted. I was so pleasantly surprised. The pousada (bed & breakfast) was exactly as pictured and the workers there are lovely. The location was great too, very quiet but just a few steps from the bus stop. We rented a car but ended up regretting paying R$600 per day while one bus ride was R$5\. Our stay was exquisite and l cannot give enough praises to the entire staff. My husband is lactose intolerant and they made lactose free desserts for him every day! The breakfast was yummy, the guy managing the reception (Will) speaks english and is extremely helpful, the room had air conditioning, the king bed was comfy and the high speed wifi internet worked fine. I hope this will help other visitors make their decision. I’d definitely stay there again!"

"The staff were extremely nice, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was very good and the location convenient. We stayed in room 8, which was much smaller than expected. There was barely space to move or open our luggage, and the bathroom was also very small. Great service, but the room size was disappointing."
