With limited development and no cars, North Captiva offers a peaceful escape unlike anywhere else. TRANSIT North Captiva Island is accessible only by ferry, private boat, or small private plane. There are no cars on the island, and golf carts are the primary mode of transportation. This home does not include a golf cart. Golf cart rentals are available through The Island Club and can be arranged in advance. Bicycles are also commonly used for getting around the island. The nearest commercial airport is located in Fort Myers. Guests should plan ahead for groceries and supplies, as on-island shopping options are limited. The property management company on the other hand was terrible. We had issues with the golf cart not working, it would not break and would stop accelerating. Very dangerous. North Captiva island club, wanted us to spend extra money to upgrade. I found this to be ridiculous. We had a few other issues and they wouldn’t return our calls. We’ve been to the island before, stayed on a non North Captiva island club property and had a wonderful experience. Next trip back, I know to rent from a private owner or another club. ##### Kim B.
