Dogs must be kept under control as the property is not fenced and guests in the Shanti Yurt may also have dogs. Please, be ready to keep your dog on a leash or use an invisible fence collar to set up a perimeter for your pet. Please pick up after your pet. Keep your dogs indoors at night as we have cougars in the area. Guests are expected and advised to bring their dog\`s beds and bowls. If you come with a dog, add it to your reservation. While it's small, we really didn't feel confined given all the time we were able to spend in the "second living room" outside. And we loved the coziness of it at night and the ability to start a fire in the wood burning stove if it got cold. It really does feel like stepping back in time and is an encouragement to disconnect from the noisy, non-stop world. We especially enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, and serene surroundings in the woods. The only improvement I can think of that would make it even better would be if there was a water source close to the cabin, like a hose to wash dishes, have water for rinsing your hands, etc. You have to go to the bathroom for that, which is very close so it's not the end of the world. If we had been 40 years younger we could have enjoyed our stay better. We take responsibility in not researching this location further. We found the washroom well planned but to far away from the cabin. The cabin was more like a lean too(half a cabin). Best part of the cabin was the bed except we had to climb over each other to settle in. A very soft and comfortable bed. We were hoping for a bit more privacy but found little. The hot tub was relaxing and there was a large selection of classic VHS movies to add on to the warm aesthetic. The espresso machine and the hot tub, the slippers and robes, the BBQ , had a spot to tie my hammock…what more do you need!?! The hosts are extremely kind. And having an indoor bathing while glamping is always nice!
