![Buxton Opera House is a 902 seat theatre located in The Square, Buxton, Derbyshire, England. 

It hosts the annual Buxton Festival and, from 1994 to 2013, the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival as well as pantomime at Christmas, musicals and other entertainments year-round.

Hosting live performances until 1927, the theatre then was used mostly as a cinema until 1976.

Was a little disconcerted to find we were actually staying in the house with the owner, an unknown experience for us. Julie was very friendly & helpful. "Brilliant location. The Deputy Manager was very helpful and efficient. Breakfast was self serve and was delicious and plentiful. Parking outside the hotel is avaliable for 4 hours max during certain times (pay at meter), however you can purchase a 24 hour permit from Reception for £6\. We'd definitely stay again. (pay at meter)"

"Lovely clean room & very little noise from the pub, which was absolutely rocking, on Saturday night. Helpful & friendly staff (who also sorted the heating for us). My Mum had the ground floor ‘accessible’ room as she has trouble with stairs & that’s AMAZING. It’s a great spot to access the town: love Buxton. Our second time there & will be returning. "

"Room was well-appointed, of a decent size and with a refurbished bathroom. Housekeeping staff friendly and efficient. The Lee Wood has always been one of my favourite hotels in Buxton. Only complaint was that it didn’t snow - which is hardly the fault of the hotel!"

"A last minute booking and we felt very lucky and blessed to find this amazing hotel. From the minute we arrived we were given first class service! Lovely touches, like fresh milk and a welcome bottle of beer and prosecco in our room. A fabulous gala dinner and breakfast and then finished with an amazing picnic to take away with us People friendly, dog friendly and in an idyllic location Thank you to manager Andy and all your amazing staff"
