I am wheelchair user and I rented a wheelchair room with a roll in shower. The front desk woman was incredibly helpful trying to get the shower chair replaced by the general manager. Walmart didn’t have a replacement. The front desk woman tightened the screws on the bottom of the chair. The legs were still wobbly and there were three grips attached to three of the chair legs and no grip on one chair leg. I couldn’t use the chair thus I couldn’t shower. The room was spacious and the washroom was large to accommodate my wheelchair. The front desk woman also plugged in all the lamps, set the alarm clock for me.
The location of the room is on the main floor, #112, is next to an exit door at the bottom of a flight of stairs I was woken up several times during the night when a customer exited the hotel using the exit door next to room #112. The exit door slams closes very loudly and this is what woke me several times in the night. The tap was very stiff in the washroom required me to use both hands to pull on the tap to wash my hands and to brush my teeth. The male front desk staff, in the morning, just asked if I was checking out and not how my night was.
The front desk woman, upon my arrival, and later that evening the general manager went above and beyond to accommodate the need for a new shower chair. Unfortunately the shower chair couldn’t be replaced, Walmart didn’t have any, and I wasn’t able to shower even though the screws had been tightened by the front desk woman.
