After contacting Backroad to cancel the river portion of our trip I called Travelocity. I spoke with a representative who supposedly interceded with United airlines to allow us to use all but $300 per person on a subsequent trip provided it was booked by January. I also asked that he cancel any hotel bookings we had Travelocity for now. I got half of the mandatory Budapest attractions done within 3hrs after checking in. Giant room with a view looking directly at the church. Mostly friendly staff with 1 rude breakfast room lady complaining that I didn't close the door after entry. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. It's quite noisy from early morning but I still highly recommend this place. If you want to sleep until late this hotel is not for you because the Matthias Church is in front of it and the bells might wake you up and the loud tourists as well. There are some buses from there to the city center so you don't need to climb up and down on the stairs.
