"Everything about our weekend at this beautiful cottage went above and beyond our expectations. The Johnstons were incredibly kind and caring and made the check-in and check-out process a breeze. The home was clean, warm, and inviting. From the numerous cozy and comfortable beds, to the luxurious sauna, our family enjoyed every part. There was truly something for every age: memories in the snow and on the swing set with the kids, games and puzzles, and stocked coffee bar, to name a few. With the close proximity to Duluth, we were able to go out on a few excursions and still have plenty of time together at the cottage. "I retired on 1/30/2026 and wanted to spend 2 weeks in my fave place in the world - the Wisconsin North Woods - and I wanted to stay on Lake Superior. Everyone said WHY?! Because after working for 22 years in a challenging industry, I needed to destress. I wanted to be quiet. I wanted to watch the storms roll across Lake Superior. This beautiful home is about as far north as you can get in Wisconsin. It is a LOT of house for 2 people but for a group it would be great. Luke was so wonderful to deal with - both prior to the trip and the couple of questions we had when we got there. If you do decide to go in the Winter, just know it is remote. The roads are plowed but snow packed. Not much is open (but go to Pancho's in Cornucopia for the Walleye cheeks). I enjoyed cooking in the gorgeous kitchen (everything there you need!) and my husband and I played cards, binged some tv shows and just chilled. I've recommended this house to friends that go up in the summer to fish and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Lake Superior experience. Close to Duluth, Bayfield and Hayward so things to do if you want to. Enjoy the sunrises!!! "

"I stayed here with my women’s hockey team for a weekend in March. We absolutely loved it. The main house was spacious, had many amenities, and plenty of entertainment (board games, ping pong table, dart board, tvs, etc). The guest house was pretty cool too. The host was thorough about how to access all parts of the property and was highly responsive during our stay. The property was clean and organized, which is important to me. While the drive in was a bit bumpy and long, the location was stunning being right on the lake. We had no complaints and definitely enjoyed our stay. I hope we can come back sometime in the future!"
