BEACH ACCESS We're located on a cliff directly above the beach with no current access down the side of the cliff to the beach below, but it is just a two minute drive to BEACH-LEVEL PARKING at Harris Beach State Park.
SOUTH HARRIS BEACH South Harris Beach, which is one of the best ocean beaches on the Oregon coast, is even closer; it is just a ten minute walk or a one minute drive to get there. And it almost never has people on it because you have to walk down the side of a cliff on a paved path to get to it, and because very few tourists know about it.
LONE RANCH BEACH Lone Ranch Beach with lots of tide pools with starfish and other sea life is a four minute drive north.
HARBOR BEACH The magnificent driftwood covered beach at the harbor is just five minutes south.
SECRET BEACH Secret Beach is wild and scenic and it's just a quick 10 or 12 minute drive north on US Highway 101.
WHALE WATCHING Resident gray whales can be seen all year but they are more frequently spotted in the summer and fall when they feed closer to shore. We also have thousands more migrating whales along the Oregon coast every year, going south, between mid-December & mid-January and they start returning up the Oregon toward to Alaska every year in between late March and June.
REDWOOD NATURE TRAIL Walking under the canopy of a redwood forest is like being in a natural cathedral. The mile long and quite walkable Redwood Nature Trail is just 9 miles away. And world famous Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park is just 22 miles south on US Highway 101.
WILD RIVERS The Chetco River, with some of the best salmon runs in the world plus a lot of trout and steelhead, runs right through Brookings. And the cold waters of the Smith River, just a few miles south of Brookings, also has plenty of fish, especially salmon and trout.
OCEAN FISHING Thee are well over a dozen ocean charter fishing companies and fishing guides available in the harbor just two miles south of our property.

ABOUT YOUR HOSTS – by Barbara
Patrick & I were (and still are!) grateful & amazed at the good fortune that came our way when we acquired two 'diamond in the rough' coastal properties on the Southern Oregon coast that are right next to each other. They sit side-by-side on just over two cliffside acres overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean.
We did not plan on being vacation rental hosts - it just sort of happened - but we are glad it did because we are always delighted to share these amazing properties with our guests.
I had recently retired from a job in the medical field and Patrick had sold his large real estate office when, in March of 2019, we found the coastal property we now live in while on a road trip through Southern Oregon.
The house that is now our home had been on the market 5 years as part of an estate sale & it needed a lot of work, but we loved it the moment we saw it. **We made the best offer we could afford and our offer was accepted! The separate guesthouse that came with it became our first vacation rental .
Then in 2022 our elderly & very kind next-door neighbor, a widower, decided to move to Portland to be with family. His circa 1950 house also needed a lot of work. We were experienced hosts at that point and we knew the location and layout were absolutely perfect for another vacation rental . So Patrick worked out a deal with the owner and we bought it. Then we put in granite counter tops, tiled showers, redwood decks, heated floors, bigger windows and much more.
Our objective was to create a magical space where people can come to relax in quiet comfort with lots of privacy & stunning ocean views. It worked out perfectly and now we love sharing these amazing side-by-side properties with our guests!
Thank you for considering a stay with us while in Brookings. Patrick and I wish you safe travels and an enjoyable visit.
Sincerely, Barbara :)
PS. 1. No one has better coastal views 2. Best price/value - nothing comparable at this price 3. We always treat people the way we would want to be treated

Nice place and the hosts are very accommodating. I checked in after dark and the place is very cozy. Woke up to a great view of the ocean from my bed. So nice. This would be a great location for several couples/family members to celebrate an occasion.

Beautiful, peaceful 2 nights. If you need to slow down, this is the place to do it. The beach is a 3 minute drive with the softest sand. We spent the evening on the balcony overlooking the ocean playing board games with our 4 and 7 year old. We would definitely return. The hosts have paid attention to details that allow for a relaxing getaway.

At the price I was led to expect a large room with a view. In fact, our room was small and crowded and adjacent to a garage. The only window in the room was crammed against a chain link fence and a growth of something euonymous, allowing little light into the room. The sliding glass doors into the room looked out onto a concrete driveway. That said, the view from the patio, which can be accessed by walking outside and down to the west side of the house is spectacular. If the room just described does not appeal to you, I suggest you request a room with a view of the ocean.

As I arrived I was promptly greeted by the very energetic and hospitable host Patric. Who gave us quick tour of the place. The courtyard garden was beautiful even in the torrential downpour of rain that the Pacific Northwest is known for. The view not only from the courtyard but the “Quite room.” Is amazing. My Room was fully furnished with everything you could possibly need, including books, board games, and card games. Beautiful wood burl table, a small and very functional kitchenette, a very large shower with a heated tile floor. My favorite thing about the place is that there isn’t t.v, at least that I could find. Making you spend quality time with your loved ones while you are there. During the time my fiancée and would normally lay in bed watching mind numbing television we spent sitting at the table playing cards. If perfection existed it would be there at the cliff side suits. My only regret is not being able to spend more than one night…… PS what ever you do, DO NOT open the drawers in quite room.

My family and I found ourselves in Brookings for a wedding. We stayed in one of the “Garden View” suites for two nights. Upon walking out of our entrance there are breathtaking views of the ocean, and there’s even a nice courtyard for sitting. The room itself was very well furnished and we felt confident knowing they had everything we needed in case we forgot anything. The owners were very kind and easy to work with. It was the perfect place for our family!

It was the perfect balance of R&R and new family adventures. We have been wanting to get to Brookings, OR for awhile now, and this suited our family of four, well. We were lucky enough to enjoy picnics and sunsets every night! We are thankful to have found this beautiful piece of property for our first visit to Brookings.

We absolutely loved staying in the Garden Views 2 room here! It was everything we needed for the weekend!! The host was kind and provided a lovely intro when we arrived, and then left us to our stay. Between that and the fact that this room didn’t have any shared walls, we loved the privacy that our room afforded us. Additionally, the room was stocked with so many little creature comforts - tea, coffee, toiletries, books, snacks, etc. The views are gorgeous! I cant imagine better views in Brookings!! Highly recommend!
