BEACH ACCESS We're located on a cliff directly above the beach with no current access down the side of the cliff to the beach below, but it is just a two minute drive to BEACH-LEVEL PARKING at Harris Beach State Park. SOUTH HARRIS BEACH South Harris Beach, which is one of the best ocean beaches on the Oregon coast, is even closer; it is just a ten minute walk or a one minute drive to get there. And it almost never has people on it because you have to walk down the side of a cliff on a paved path to get to it, and because very few tourists know about it. LONE RANCH BEACH Lone Ranch Beach with lots of tide pools with starfish and other sea life is a four minute drive north. HARBOR BEACH The magnificent driftwood covered beach at the harbor is just five minutes south. SECRET BEACH Secret Beach is wild and scenic and it's just a quick 10 or 12 minute drive north on US Highway 101. WHALE WATCHING Resident gray whales can be seen all year but they are more frequently spotted in the summer and fall when they feed closer to shore. We also have thousands more migrating whales along the Oregon coast every year, going south, between mid-December & mid-January and they start returning up the Oregon toward to Alaska every year in between late March and June. REDWOOD NATURE TRAIL Walking under the canopy of a redwood forest is like being in a natural cathedral. The mile long and quite walkable Redwood Nature Trail is just 9 miles away. And world famous Jedediah Smith Redwoods Park is just 22 miles south on US Highway 101. WILD RIVERS The Chetco River, with some of the best salmon runs in the world plus a lot of trout and steelhead, runs right through Brookings. And the Smith River a few miles south also has plenty of fish, especially salmon and trout. OCEAN FISHING Thee are well over a dozen ocean charter fishing companies and fishing guides available in the harbor just two miles south of our property. Both sit on their own cliffside acre overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean. We did not plan on being vacation rentals hosts - it just sort of happened - but we are glad it did because we are always delighted to share these amazing properties with our guests. I was recently retired from a job in the medical field and Patrick had sold his real estate office when, in March of 2019, we found the coastal property we now live in while we on a road trip through Southern Oregon. The house that is now our home had been on the market 5 years as part of an estate sale & it needed a lot of work, but we loved it the moment we saw it. \*\*We made the best offer we could afford and our offer was accepted! The separate guesthouse that came with it became our first vacation rental. Then in 2022 our elderly & very kind next-door neighbor, a widower, decided to move to Portland to be with family. His circa 1950 house also needed a lot of work. We were experienced hosts at that point and we knew the location and layout were absolutely perfect as another vacation rental. \*\*So Patrick worked out a deal with the seller that included some seller-financing and we bought it. Then we put in granite counter tops, tiled showers, redwood decks, heated floors, bigger windows and much more. Our objective was to create a magical space where people can come to relax in quiet comfort with lots of privacy & stunning ocean views. It worked out perfectly and now we love sharing these magical side-by-side properties with our guests! Thank you for considering a stay with us while in Brookings. Patrick and I wish you safe travels and an enjoyable visit. Sincerely, Barbara :) PS. 1\. No one has better coastal views! 2\. Best price/value - nothing comparable at this price 3\. W always treat people the way we would want to be treated \----------------------- \*\* Patrick wrote a book titled "Real Estate Investment Coach Secrets" for those interested in buying investment property. It is available on Amazon. ## Property amenities ### Internet - Available in the apartment: WiFi ### Parking and transportation - Electric car charging station on site - Wheelchair-accessible parking and van parking available ### Kitchenette - Coffee/tea maker - Cookware, dishware, and utensils - Electric kettle - Microwave - Refrigerator - Spices - Stovetop - Toaster ### Dining - Dining table ### Bedrooms - Bedroom - Bedsheets provided ### Bathroom - 1 bathroom - Hair dryer - Shower ### Living spaces - Dining table ### Entertainment - Books ### Outdoor areas - Balcony - Garden ### Laundry - Laundry facilities ### Work spaces - Desk - Desk chair - Office ### Comfort - Heating ### Pets - No pets allowed ### Suitability/Accessibility - If you have requests for specific accessibility needs, please contact the property using the information on the reservation confirmation received after booking. - 2 steps to reach entrance - 9 accessible parking spaces - Area rugs in public areas - Cobblestone flooring in public areas - Hardwood flooring in public areas - No elevator (single-level property) - Single level property - Smooth flooring in public areas - Tile flooring in public areas - Well-lit path to entrance - Wheelchair accessibility - Wheelchair-accessible parking - Wheelchair-accessible van parking - Smoking not allowed ### Services and conveniences - Housekeeping (on request) - Iron/ironing board ### Location highlights - On the waterfront ### Things to do - Bicycle parking - Bicycle storage ### Safety features - Carbon monoxide detector (host has indicated there is a carbon monoxide detector on the property) - Smoke detector (host has indicated there is a smoke detector on the property) - First aid kit - Fire extinguisher ### General - At least 80% lighting from LEDs - Bicycle parking - Bicycle storage - Double-glazed windows - Eco-friendly cleaning products used - Electric car charging station - Energy-saving switches in guestrooms - Garden - Housekeeping (on request) - Locally-owned and organized tours and activities - Recycling - Unit size: 500 square feet ## Policies ### Check-in Check-in time starts at 3:00 PM ### Check-out Check-out before 11:00 AM ### Special check-in instructions You will receive an email from the host with check-in and check-out instructions ### Rules Please use the house front door to enter and; leave your unit instead of walking along the fence line past, another unit, to go to your vehicle.
