We enjoyed the warmth and hospitality of Nikki and Jim. They live on property and are accessible to assist with anything we needed. The bedroom was roomy and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and had a wonderful shower with soft towels. The surrounding area to The School House is picturesque and calming. We would definitely return to Woolavington.
Refurbished school house. Excellent decor and beautiful accommodation. Friendly, welcoming, quiet, tranquil, restful. Ample sized rooms with well fitted out en suite bathroom. Fabulous large bed. Definitely recommended.
An excellent bed-and-breakfast stop. Space may be a little restricted, particularly in the en-suite toilet, but the furnishings and decore are of the highest standard. Breakfast is personally served and excellent. As an overnight stop en route to Devon or Cornwall we would recommend the School House to anyone.
A wonderfully quaint setting in a really quiet village, yet only minute’s from the M5, made for an excellent night’s rest mid-road trip. Hosts were wonderfully accommodating and the breakfast was exceptional. Spotless throughout, spacious bathroom and particularly comfortable bed.
We stopped here en route from the east midlands to Cornwall as it is very close to the M5. The School House is a great B&B with friendly hosts and an excellent breakfast
What a fabulous find this was. Nicky and Jim literally came to our rescue when our original booking at a different hotel went pear shaped. The School House has lots of character, is spotlessly clean and has friendly and helpful hosts. Delicious breakfast too. 10/10 from us :)
I stayed here in September in the gold room and green room. Both pleasant and comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful. The owners are lovely and breakfast is delicious. Hot English only served from 08.00, but they will make you a bacon butty or scrambled egg before this time if you ask nicely. Local amenities are a coop and pubs, both not too far away, but not really walkable. Glad I stayed here and would recommend to anyone
i stayed here for a work trip it was nice to not be in a mainstream hotel group, room was large, clean and comfortable. really nice en suite and as i was leaving before breakfast the lady made me a sandwich to go which was a nice touch.
Historical Building with modern touches - amazing!
I wanted to stay in the Old School House as it is quite likely that some of my ancestors were taught there. But even if that is not true we both enjoyed our stay. Very welcoming hosts - good breakfasts - clean and comfy room so everything was spot-on ....... no need for any discipline !
We had a wonderful stay, the hosts make you welcome on your arrival. The School House is seeped in history, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. We stayed for 2 nights and was well located for where we needed to be. The breakfast was fab and we ate in front of the wood burning stove. We will be staying here again next time we are in the area.
Interesting property to stay in. On the LeJog route so convenient. Secure bike storage. No local places to eat but hostess can cook dinner if booked in advance. Good home cooked breakfast.
Nicky and Jim, proprietors of this lovely old School House/ Guest House, were ever helpful and kind. We were in Somerset for a funeral and there are not many owners who would take the trouble to make a dummy run to the crematorium to enable us to have accurate directions. First class service.
