Beautifully restored and converted Spread across 1000 acres of rolling countryside and lush river valleys, a stay at the Barns promises a luxury escape away from the madding crowd. Beautifully restored and converted, Williamston Barns can accommodate up to fourteen people and will appeal to extended families and larger groups who wish to holiday together amidst stunning surroundings. The property comprises two interconnecting units (The Barn & The Cowshed) set-out in a companionable open plan layout with plenty of space for relaxation or social gatherings. The original barn opening extends into a spacious entrance hallway leading to a fantastic open plan kitchen and dining area with beautifully exposed brickwork and high quality finishes throughout. For entertaining, the dining area can seat up to 14 guests for simple suppers or elaborate dinner parties, while large sliding doors lead out to a south facing terrace and garden for a leisurely aperitif in the early evening sun. Upstairs on the first floor, the lofty light-filled living space benefits from a number of superb architectural features and offers a perfect excuse to unwind in front of the cosy wood burning stove, spend quality time with friends and family, or simply enjoy the spectacular uninterrupted views across the valley and fellside. The seven en-suite bedrooms offer flexible accommodation for guests and are all beautifully appointed with crisp linens, sumptuous beds, and finest quality cushions and throws from Johnstons Cashmere. Willamston has a sustainable ethos at its heart and the Barn benefits from underfloor heating supplied from a biomass woodchip boiler; stoves fuelled by seasoned wood from the farm; electricity generated from its own 6kw wind turbine; and fresh filtered water from its own spring source. GROUND FLOOR Williamston Barn & Williamston Cowshed are two separate units which are separated by an interconnecting door. Let as a full unit for 14 guests, the accommodation comprises:- Two fully equipped kitchens, each with Rangemaster double oven cooker with induction hobs, microwave oven, toaster, electric kettle, large dishwasher, integrated fridge and freezer. A coffee Nespresso machine is also available, guests are welcome to bring their own capsules. There are washing and drying facilities available in a separate area of the property. Technology includes Samsung Smart TV with Freeview, sound bar and sub woofer and DVD / Blu-ray player. One formal dining area seating up to 14, with large sliding doors leading out to the terrace and garden. A separate dining area in the second kitchen can accommodate 8 guests. Ground floor sitting room with wood burning stove, large sofa and additional seating. Bedroom one with fixed super king bed, fitted wardrobe. Couldn’t fault it and would definitely choose to stay again. However very confusing that received 2 invoices - 1 from Homeaway and another from Crabtree and Crabtree. Confusing as to what was being paid for what. Slight problem with accidental damage to a door, money taken from my card within 2 days of departure and I was told C and C would negotiate with owners even though I informed the owner myself on departure and offered to put the damage right ourselves....and still waiting for a reply from Crabtree and Crabtree after 3 weeks. Both barn and cowshed were well equipped. During our stay we had plenty of time to take in the amazing views and due to the great location go on long walks. Drove to Hadrian’s wall and completed a great but challenging (for me) walk all our party completed with a well deserved stop at sycamore gap. We prepared a lovely meal together 10 in our party in the barn and relaxed in the lounge with beautiful log burners. On Sunday we had a short walk to the local pub which we highly recommend. Kirk style inn at Knaresdale. The four day break was brilliant we will definitely be returning. ##### Howard G.
