The scotch Arms was one of the most beautiful B & B I have stayed in. It was well decorated, maintaining the integrity of the old, yet modernizing for today. Our host Diane was extremely helpful, especially in organizing lunches and a taxi. Provided a map for walking around town & where to eat! She went out of her way to provide comfort. Exceptional breakfast was provided. Highly recommend.

Dianne went out of her way to be helpful at all steps of our stay. Great parking facilities, great shower, comfy bed. Everything needed was provided and well thought through. We were able to arrange to collect the keys early as we were due at a wedding and Dianne went out of her way to help us arrange a taxi booking to and from the venue nearby. Breakfast was varied and plentiful.

Excellent location in a characterful property.

For an overnight clean and well appointed room the experience was very good. Breakfast was also very well presented, comprehensive and offered a v good choice. Check in could have been a little sooner and breakfast offered from 0730.

Unique and personal hotel in Carlisle

The hotel owner could not do enough to make you feel welcome. The whole ambiance of the hotel was warm and embracing and with an amazing breakfast too!

Scott Arms Mews is a great place to stay when walking Hadrians Wall. It ticks all the boxes - lovely host who greets you warmly and takes the time to say goodbye too. Packed lunches are provided if you want. Rooms are just like those in the photos.

The owner and her assistants are truly great hosts. The location is simply perfect to walk around the town and just a few blocks away from restaurants and pubs. The breakfast was very nice and hearty enough for the day’s walk. Somewhat close to Lanercost Abbey as the departure point towards the section of Hadrian’s Wall in Brampton

A Peaceful Retreat

This was the perfect spot for our first stop along the way to Edinburgh. After a long drive from LHR, we arrived to a warm welcome in a cozy, restored inn. Absolutely lovely with a fire, a cozy room and a welcoming hostess who answered all of our questions. The inn is located within walking distance to shops and local eateries. I would definitely stay here again. Just lovely.

Perfect stop on the Hadrian’s Way

Great B&B and thoroughly recommended if walking or cycling the Hadrian’s Way. Rooms are modern and well appointed and the honesty bar is very relaxed and comfortable. Safe and secure cycle storage was a welcome addition. Will definitely be staying here again.

Super friendly place

Our host could not have been more welcoming and accommodating- really made us feel at home which was great after a long drive. The room and facilities overall were excellent the only thing missing was a fan as it was a warm night even with the big window wide open. We slept well and this didn’t detract from a great stay.

Well presented site in the heart of Brampton

Lovely location right in the heart of Brampton. Would make a perfect location for easy access to the Scottish boarders, Yorkshire Dales, North Pennines and the Lake District but not forgetting its located next to some of the best locations on Hadrian's wall. Could not fault the food and the hostess was found to be very friendly and knowledgeable. Respected covid 19 measures during our stay. Only slight niggle was the some road noise which was a minor issue as it reduced as the evening went on. Overall a very pleasant stay and nice to see such a well presented location.
